Nah but, with the interaction the other person would and may also be inclined to like yours too. Hence the more you like another persons comments the less coins they get from it but it's not a immediate.

I got "grandfathered" in as it were, so I never experienced the system as it is today.

Though it doesn't look that bad, I have read where people have had issues with the "reading" requirement.
