I'm thinking about how to make this more efficient, mainly so I don't spam it. Or maybe I'll stop doing it like a bot and just say hi like a normal person, and hope that people read the rules and ask if they have any questions about how things work here.

I honestly think you should keep doing it. The importance of it outweighs the perceived annoyance if you ask me.

I had thought about stopping doing this because, technically, it’s not my job to inform every new user—wherever you go, you should always inform yourself of the site’s rules; it’s everyone’s responsibility. But at the same time, I feel it’s reassuring for someone new to receive a mini-guide about the site with steps to follow, rather than having to learn everything on the fly.

After all, not all sites have a currency system, let alone something like the "Public Area" and "Area+" that we have here.

It's useful to be here and not a DM, because it's seen by the other new people who didn't post anything yet.

Thievery is still called "a profession." a criminal profession, where people make countless money from crime. There is a thing called career criminal, though, yeah, its not legal like banking or labor work ect..

Just because something is colloquially referred to as something doesn't make it that something. Wrong typically denotes morality or subjective judgment whereas incorrect specifically denotes factual or technical errors, id est "incorrect" is more correct than "wrong" would be. Just because it's a forum doesn't mean the rules of English go away. Thats true. I suppose a lot of people, even some legal representatives use the term "profession" to describe a thief who makes profession, as in he get paid, but it is probably used more loosely rather than a legal paid work. But regardless, thanks for the correction. I see your point now.

I notice many words and expression in English, especially US language are changed and technically wrong. Interesting idea
