3 Months of Service
I think they probably meant slave trading. This is a paid profession. In those days, before it was amke illegal, slave trading was a very common business. Buying and selling people for slaves. These days it is criminal and no longer legally practiced.Slavery isn't a profession and "crime" isn't a profession either. Profession is paid occupation. Whilst you can make money being a criminal you're not being paid for the service of being a criminal at least not in your example where you're actually reselling the items. If you were a hitman or something then you're being paid for your services that just happen to be illegal. It's pretty clear that slavery isn't a compensated position and doesn't count as a profession. Additionally considering animals have been known to exchange sex for favors in some cases you can make the argument that it could predate humans so prostitution would still be the oldest profession.
Also Earth is a proper noun and punctuation exists.
Thievery is still called "a profession." a criminal profession, where people make countless money from crime. There is a thing called career criminal, though, yeah, its not legal like banking or labor work ect..
omeone told the world that prostitution was the oldest profession on earth & everyone believed it.
but slavery (kidnapping) & stealing items for resale or use is way older than prostitution
I would suggest prostitution could be at least as old as any profession, because where there is males there is hornyness and women to offer their services. Even before the massive empires were thought of. I'm sure cavemen even hired out their women for a bonk at times lol. Though maybe it was not profession back then. Who knows? men and their penises love a good screw and they don't mind pay for it.
I wold suggest kidnapping and slave trading s businesses are much newer than prostitution because men need sex more than they do jut about most things other than warmth and food.
Anyhow, that my useless piece of trash talk to add as suggestion lol
It all depends how you define a profession and how you view paid work" what your concept is I guess.
