I still play Destiny from time to time. With how much time I invested into it, it has become a sort of low investment comfort game at this point. Partially because the only thing you can find people on is match-made activities.

cant tell you how many times i installed/uninstalled D2, put a lot of hours, done flawless dungeons, but now...been months since last play and you know its a good time to be free of it let the game just die

A few quick things:

1. Read the Rules—no exceptions—to avoid trouble. They’re pretty basic overall, but there are a few points that will clear up any doubts you might have.
2. The forum uses ranks; some are purchased, and others are earned by meeting certain requirements.
3. To view smol content, you need to be a Member+, a rank you can buy in the Shop (it’s intuitive, but ask if you have trouble).
4. There are 4 currencies, but the ones that matter to you are called Activity Coins (AC) and Donation Coins (DC); the other two are AC 2.0 and Platinum Coins—don’t worry about those for now.
5. You earn AC by being active on the forum, either by commenting (don’t spam) and receiving reactions (remember to give them too), while DCs are more straightforward. This forum runs on voluntary donations and has no ads—nor will it ever have any.
6. In the Shop, there’s a tab called Vault, where you can deposit your AC (minimum 500 per deposit) so they grow every 24 hours at a 1% interest rate and with a limit of 500 coins generated by that interest.
7. The Donator and Premium ranks, both of which can be purchased in the Shop using DC, increase both the interest rate and the limit of coins generated.
8. There are also Prestige ranks that give you access to other areas (more or less). Prestige ranks also function like a Member+ rank, and each one grants you the benefits of the previous one.
9. The forum has a Discord server and will eventually launch its own platform to break away from Discord and its anti-privacy practices, which put users' security at risk.
10. Remember that whenever you encounter a problem—whether it’s users breaking the Rules, broken links in the games, or a bug—please report it. It’s the only way the staff can know there’s a problem and fix it. The mindset of “Why report it? Someone else will” and “I won’t report it because they’ll probably never fix it” is what ultimately leads to certain problems going unresolved.

I had thought about sending it as a DM to new users, but I felt that was a bit intrusive, so I’ll give it another thought. I’m not going to make minor edits every time; in the end, it’s more of a guide than a greeting per se (though it is also a welcome message).

I had thought about stopping doing this because, technically, it’s not my job to inform every new user—wherever you go, you should always inform yourself of the site’s rules; it’s everyone’s responsibility. But at the same time, I feel it’s reassuring for someone new to receive a mini-guide about the site with steps to follow, rather than having to learn everything on the fly.

After all, not all sites have a currency system, let alone something like the "Public Area" and "Area+" that we have here.

I honestly think you should keep doing it. The importance of it outweighs the perceived annoyance if you ask me.

Caduceus is frequently associated with the medical field and yet Caduceus is the Rod of Hermes they clearly mean to use Rod of Asclepius, but they get it wrong. Literally is actually in a literary sense and thus was the same definition of figuratively and yet people claim that it is a literal sense even though they still use the original definition. If you "literally" couldn't get out of bed then you wouldn't be out of bed to make that statement and the vast majority of people aren't aware of the origins of the word and are just accidentally using the original definition so they're still "wrong". A profession is a paid occupation, you're not getting paid for the act of theft you're earning money as a result of your theft it's a semantic difference. If somebody paid you to steal something then you're actually getting paid for the act of theft and it could semantically be considered a "profession". If you're just a thief trying to resell stolen goods your getting paid from the act of selling the items and not the "job" itself. Being a thief is not a profession BY definition.

Wrong typically denotes morality or subjective judgment whereas incorrect specifically denotes factual or technical errors, id est "incorrect" is more correct than "wrong" would be. Just because it's a forum doesn't mean the rules of English go away.
