What kind of game is Fable?
I visited the steam page and looking at the pictures i don't know if the game will be open world like Elder Scrolls or is it gonna be like FF

To be honest, after reading all the news about the Fable reboot, my feelings are a mix of anticipation and worry.

As an old-school player, I was actually relieved to see Playground Games take over this project. Their open-world building skills were clearly proven with the Forza Horizon series. The new game's focus on a "dark British fairy tale" vibe, along with that familiar black humor and the classic chicken-kicking antics, definitely hits right at the nostalgia for veteran fans. Plus, their promise that you can enter almost every single building in the game, with over a thousand NPCs having their own daily routines, sounds incredibly immersive.

However, some of the drastic changes the dev team has made do raise a few concerns. First off, they scrapped the iconic morality appearance system—remember how intuitive it was when doing good gave you a halo and doing bad sprouted horns? Switching to a multi-tiered reputation system might be more realistic, but it just feels like we're losing some of the ceremonial fantasy RPG charm. On top of that, our beloved dog companion is gone, which is a bit heartbreaking. They’ve also ditched co-op multiplayer for a purely single-player experience, which might be a bummer for players who loved messing around online with friends.

Also, from its reveal in 2020 to now, the game has faced multiple delays. It’s currently confirmed to be pushed back to February 2027. The longer the wait, the higher the expectations become, which is a double-edged sword for the developers. Fortunately, Microsoft is launching it simultaneously on PS5 and PC, meaning a larger player base and a much better community atmosphere upon release.

All in all, the foundation of Fable is still there. As long as it perfectly recreates that living, breathing Albion full of human connection and meaningful choices, I’d gladly wait through any further delays. But if it ends up being just another mediocre open-world game dressed up in fairy-tale clothing, this years-long wait will have been pure torture. We’ll just have to stay patient and see what real gems they unveil at their next showcase.
