Not yet but it caught my eye. I was looking for a coop game to play with my friends. How does it compare to other alternatives? Not sure if i should get it over stuff lile deep rock galactic or helldivers 2.

I wasn't sure if Far Far West was a game that was posted on this site... And I was thinking that I wouldn't want to do coop play for these kinds of games

Besides, it's not like there are many good “new” games out there; they're usually completely broken and incomplete on launch day, yet sold at full price, or they're terrible games that no one knows how they ever got the green light to be made.

Then they come at me with, “No, it's actually better now, after this massive 30GB patch for the 50GB game that fixes all the bugs and missing content the game should have had a year ago when it came out,” and in my head I just hear them bleating like completely tamed sheep, as if something like that were something to be grateful for and not something completely despicable and unacceptable.

Of course, I’m only talking about AAA releases here; there’s nothing wrong with early access games that offer transparent development.

Funny how people trash Nintendo for their game prices or how "simple" they look but the games are not even 20gb in size and almost never have updates, not even bug fixes, their games comes out from the box perfect, they get tons of awards, have immense replay value and meanwhile the new COD game takes half your ssd space for some fucking guns and animations every new entry and give you the same crap

My laptop can’t really handle newer games anyway The only relatively recent ones I’d want to try are Cyberpunk, Dying Light series, the KCD series, The Witcher 3, Metro Exodus, and Far Cry 5.

That's all I play for the most part. Maybe some new small indie thing from time to time.

So I mostly stick to older titles and indie games, probably a 50/50 split. Honestly, with new released mods, a lot of older games feel brand new anyway.

It’s kind of why physical game releases don’t work anymore with today's AAA dev culture. Imagine selling a game on disc, then having to send out another disc every time there’s a patch… and then another for the next update. It just wouldn’t work.

That only really holds up with certain Nintendo games, like Mario or Zelda, unlike modern Pokemon. Recent Pokémon games have been pretty buggy, and they don’t get bug fixes.

I heard about it, while i don't play the modern ones i know Game Freak has been a big stain on Nintendo game's quality for a while, buggy games, ugly and uninspired visuals and just overall poor quality, but people keep buying it, so that's part of the problem, but most first party games are awesome

Platformer love.

I’ve always found it a bit puzzling that people play Mario platformers purely for the single-player experience. To me, 2D platformers feel like something from an earlier era, back when technology was limited and developers couldn’t really build more complex types of games.

If a platformer has a strong story, I can see the appeal. You’re playing through it for the narrative. But with Mario, the story is pretty minimal, so I don’t really get why.

For metroidvanias, I can see why, which feel like a more evolved form of platforming with progression systems. Or even 3D platformers, where movement itself adds another layer of depth.

Straight 2D platformers just feel like something that belongs more in arcades to me. No offense to people who love them, it’s just not something that clicks for me.

It's what you grew up with, who needs a story when you have fun game-play (fun is always relative).

Click a few buttons, build stuff, let it run, monitor... different vibe, different kind of fun. Zero interest in a game trying to "challenge" me, I prefer creating my own challenges/playstyles.

I have a bit of a love–hate relationship with how my tastes change as I get older. On one hand, I like that I’m growing and starting to appreciate things I never used to. It feels like a kind of maturity. But on the other hand, it sucks that I can’t connect with some of the things I used to love. It almost feels like losing small pieces of myself over time.

And sure, you could say that’s just natural, my preferences evolving, not something external forcing the change.

But what if it’s not just taste? What if I still like those things, but I just can’t enjoy them the same way anymore? Like when reflex-heavy games stop being fun because your reactions aren’t what they used to be. It’s not that the interest is gone. Your body just can’t keep up.

That feels a lot more depressing to me. It’s like a guitarist with Parkinson’s who still loves music but can’t physically play anymore. That kind of disconnect hits harder than simply growing out of something.

No Parkinsons, but I very much am that guitarist in my own way. Some stuff I just don't attempt. Sometimes it's not even fun to play. Part of aging (and any change, really) is grieving what you no longer have. Even to the point of handing over the world to the young, metaphorically and actually. We had our time to be one thing, now it's a time to be another.

Good thing we still have people uploading playthroughs on YouTube. So even if you can’t physically play anymore, you can still watch them and get a bit of that experience.

What are some things you’ve come to enjoy more as your tastes have matured? Like getting into philosophical books perhaps? For me, I’ve started to enjoy more text-heavy RPG video games since my attention span’s improved with age.

You’re talking to the wrong person when it comes to kinetic novels. I really can’t stand them, especially the ones with zero choices where it’s just click, click, click. They might have a great story, but at that point I’d honestly rather just watch someone else play through it than sit there clicking and reading myself.
