I didn't even realize, not that I ever go out and celebrate itHappy Cinco de Mayo.
I wasn't sure if Far Far West was a game that was posted on this site... And I was thinking that I wouldn't want to do coop play for these kinds of gamesNot yet but it caught my eye. "Grinder" is also in that list. East coast thing maybe? Also national Teacher Appreciation Day and Hoagie Day in the US. Note only parts use "Hoagie." It's that or "Italian Sandwich" here. Other parts of the country say Hero or Sub. Louisiana says "Po Boys"
That's all I play for the most part. Maybe some new small indie thing from time to time.Do people here love to go back and play old games from time to time like me?

Funny how people trash Nintendo for their game prices or how "simple" they look but the games are not even 20gb in size and almost never have updates, not even bug fixes, their games comes out from the box perfect, they get tons of awards, have immense replay value and meanwhile the new COD game takes half your ssd space for some fucking guns and animations every new entry and give you the same crapObviously~
Besides, it's not like there are many good “new” games out there; they're usually completely broken and incomplete on launch day, yet sold at full price, or they're terrible games that no one knows how they ever got the green light to be made.
Then they come at me with, “No, it's actually better now, after this massive 30GB patch for the 50GB game that fixes all the bugs and missing content the game should have had a year ago when it came out,” and in my head I just hear them bleating like completely tamed sheep, as if something like that were something to be grateful for and not something completely despicable and unacceptable.
Of course, I’m only talking about AAA releases here; there’s nothing wrong with early access games that offer transparent development.

So I mostly stick to older titles and indie games, probably a 50/50 split. Honestly, with new released mods, a lot of older games feel brand new anyway. That's all I play for the most part. Maybe some new small indie thing from time to time.
It’s kind of why physical game releases don’t work anymore with today's AAA dev culture. Imagine selling a game on disc, then having to send out another disc every time there’s a patch… and then another for the next update. It just wouldn’t work.Obviously~

That only really holds up with certain Nintendo games, like Mario or Zelda, unlike modern Pokemon. Recent Pokémon games have been pretty buggy, and they don’t get bug fixes.Funny how people trash Nintendo for their game prices or how "simple" they look but the games are not even 20gb in size and almost never have updates, not even bug fixes, their games comes out from the box perfect, they get tons of awards, have immense replay value and meanwhile the new COD game takes half your ssd space for some fucking guns and animations every new entry and give you the same crap

I heard about it, while i don't play the modern ones i know Game Freak has been a big stain on Nintendo game's quality for a while, buggy games, ugly and uninspired visuals and just overall poor quality, but people keep buying it, so that's part of the problem, but most first party games are awesomeThat only really holds up with certain Nintendo games, like Mario or Zelda, unlike modern Pokemon. If i could go back in time i would stop my dad from selling my PS1...My NES, Super NES, Genesis and N64 are still connected to play.

Platformer love.![]()
I’ve always found it a bit puzzling that people play Mario platformers purely for the single-player experience. To me, 2D platformers feel like something from an earlier era, back when technology was limited and developers couldn’t really build more complex types of games. You must be registered to see attachments

I'm not a platformer fan anymore. At all. But back in the day (and likely still), the appeal was flow state. Same as a shooter when you're just in the zone, effortlessly flying through a level.I’ve always found it a bit puzzling that people play Mario platformers purely for the single-player experience. If a platformer has a strong story, I can see the appeal. You’re playing through it for the narrative. But with Mario, the story is pretty minimal, so I don’t really get why.
For metroidvanias, I can see why, which feel like a more evolved form of platforming with progression systems. Or even 3D platformers, where movement itself adds another layer of depth.
Straight 2D platformers just feel like something that belongs more in arcades to me. No offense to people who love them, it’s just not something that clicks for me.

It's what you grew up with, who needs a story when you have fun game-play (fun is always relative).I’ve always found it a bit puzzling that people play Mario platformers purely for the single-player experience. Let me guess, your reflexes aren’t what they used to be? I can practically hear your knees creaking from hereI'm not a platformer fan anymore. At all. The hands and the eyes do start to go lol. It's also about time/attention investment. Much more casual gaming while doing other things. Click a few buttons, build stuff, let it run, monitor... different vibe, different kind of fun. Zero interest in a game trying to "challenge" me, I prefer creating my own challenges/playstyles.Let me guess, your reflexes aren’t what they used to be? It’s all good though. Unlike you, I never really had great reflexes to begin with, so I’ve always been pretty bad at platformers.
I do enjoy FPS games, though, just mostly single-player, and usually the classic ones like Doom, Duke Nukem, and Shadow Warrior.
Talking about the PS2, good thing i'm re-building my library backDon't have my PS1 but hey, the PS2 still plays PS1 games.![]()
Did you see the project to revive the original Duke Nukem forever?I do enjoy FPS games, though, just mostly single-player, and usually the classic ones like Doom, Duke Nukem, and Shadow Warrior.
This still reigns true:who needs a story when you have fun game-play
