Oh, so some FFs are not just RPGs, but also MMOs? I see. Didn't know that before.FFXI is actually still going :3 Played it a few months ago for the first time and the servers are still plenty active for such an old MMO <3
Yep! XI and XIV <3Oh, so some FFs are not just RPGs, but also MMOs? I see. Didn't know that before.
Just keep in mind one thing, when the floating island starts to self destruct and a party member leaves to help. The timer is NOT for you to get to your ship to get out of the island but for you to endure the monster waves until they come back. Biggest mistake i made on my first runI was thinking about start playing, I previously played the one with lightining, and didnt like very much
But I'll give i a try again, gonna look into FF6

Love me some FFXIV. It's a pretty classic MMO, standard classes. Optics are a lot more my thing than the cartoony warcraft style. Really low amount of grinding. Story of the vanilla game is fine, but drags on at times, but the DLC stories are really good. It's free until lvl 60 I believe? And I think the first expansion is included in the free part as well, which is already pretty goodOh, so some FFs are not just RPGs, but also MMOs? I see. Didn't know that before.
Ooo what games you playing? :3I’m finally starting to get over my choice paralysis and getting back to the games I left unfinished.
If they are games that feel really magical to me then yep! Or if they are games that I think are really well made and I haven't gotten everything out of them (games like Deus Ex, Souls games)But it got me wondering, do you guys ever replay games you’ve already finished, just to see if they still hold up? Or do you prefer to leave them as they are and just keep the memories in your heart without revisiting them?
Deus Ex. Imagine procrastinating on playing games… just to doomscroll instead. And yet, that’s exactly what I do.Ooo what games you playing? :3

X to me was a bit jarring compared to other titles i've played, OSTs are nice but some things didn't feel quite right. XII i'd recomend playing some of the tactics titles like the first GBA one for cross references (Not that important but some of the cast is shared). IV often gets lots of praise but it has the jankyness common in RPG maker games (The DS remake looked hideous with the 3D SD models with huge heads and tiny bodies). V has a light hearted start but can have some dark moments as well (the class system is a grindfest tho). VI and VII share a lot in themes and systems with the materia system basically being an upgrade of the esper stones, so if you like one chances are you will like the other and probably xenogears as wellIs hard to say, my first was XIII but most people agree that either VI or VII are the best starting points, or X (which has probably aged the best and has the lowest amount of jank at the start :3)

Ooo I loved playing Sims 2 when I was younger :3 Remember loving the DS version alot as well <3
Speaking of cute girls, there's a NSFW parody RPG called CRYSTAL FANTASY. I think it was pretty good? Been a hot minute since I played itAlso good
Steam has the whole series available to buy so you don't need to setup 5 different emulators to play then from the start, but you can star anywhere, that's the beauty of FF, there's turn based RPG's (the first ones, Original FFVII) mix of the two (FFXIII, FFXII) real time combat (FFXV, FFVII Remakes(s)) and straight up DMC Lite (FFXVI)
Also all the girls are really cute

Sometimes I do replay games. The amount of times I completed Sonic 3&K scares meBut it got me wondering, do you guys ever replay games you’ve already finished, just to see if they still hold up? I am currently doing this as well :3 Need to continue Persona 3Deus Ex. Imagine procrastinating on playing games… just to doomscroll instead. And yet, that’s exactly what I do.
Honestly on days where I have to go into the office, I usually come back and play CoD zombies if any game at all :c But if I work from home it's usually what keeps me going through the end of my shifts :3Also, how do you still have the energy to play games after finishing work? Doesn’t work take up your whole day and drain all your energy, Yuna?
I know, you must’ve sacrificed some of your beauty sleep for gaming, I reckon. It’s like the triangle of life: sleep, social life, and work. You always end up having to sacrifice one of them.
A shy, asocial panda (dark circles from lack of sleep), hiding behind a stalk of bamboo (a friend’s arm). Truly a sight to behold!I am currently doing this as well :3 Need to continue Persona 3
Also Deus Ex so good <3

My friends force me to not sacrifice my social life ;-; so sleep it is
Some games (In majority older ones in my opinion) really put emphasis on the experience so sometimes you just get the urge to pop them back up and play. I have a personal bias to old SRW games and just the other day i was replaying SRW64 with a screen translator and taking prints to throw at google translate(i really like the ost, dificulty, cast choices and the story around the development of the main characters machines as due to copyright issues they ended up like a secret prototype version of the SRW A machines that are much more prominent, so it feels like having acess to a niche gundam MSV material). Other games i keep coming back to are mega man, chrono trigger, terranigma and bahamut lagoon. It might be just nostalgia talking but Snes games tend to be easier to come back due to better pacing, older gen tends to be lacking in content and performance while newer gens tend to become bloated and slower with more more prominent bugs and other issues due to rushed development that are consequences of the increased complexityDance, dance, Adachi! Dance for the peace of the world!

Is there ever a fear that they won’t live up to the nostalgia?
There are so many games and so little time. Sometimes I can’t decide whether I should go back and replay old favorites or spend that time trying new games I haven’t experienced yet.
I understand what you mean, some games feel like they are better as a memory, and replaying would break the illusion. But it got me wondering, do you guys ever replay games you’ve already finished, just to see if they still hold up? WoW aesthetic never spoke to me, might be because of the jank of old 3D and more gritty/realistic style but it aways felt like things were ugly for the sake of it. It's one thing i found funny about TERA, in one side you have the classic western style humans and then some classes and races feels like they escaped from monster hunter/final fantasy and other JRPGSLove me some FFXIV. Man P3 is such a nice game but is a chore having to play so many versions because atlus rather than make a definitive version they rather instead change stuff and add exclusivities to each one so you have the replay the whole game again without even being able to cross your data between versions. Started with the PSP version and then went to the PS2 for the FES part and it really made me apreciate the battle upgrades (LIKE WTF JUMPEI THAT MF ALREADY REFLECTED YOUR AGI ONCE, STOP THROWING THAT ON IT)I am currently doing this as well :3 Need to continue Persona 3

Still love a lot of the games I played as a kid but there are some I've played as an adult to sort of re-experience them with a functional brain and they were not nearly as fun. One of those games for me was one of the older Lego Star Wars games, just did not find it fun. But sooo many of the games I played back then are still in my usual rotation, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six Vegas, Metal Gear Solid 2, so much peak.I understand what you mean, some games feel like they are better as a memory, and replaying would break the illusion.
Sonic adventure 2 is like that for me, I'm afraid it's not as good as I remember.
Yeee there's honestly a bunch of series that have this problem, Persona also has a big naming problem, the confusion between Persona 5 Royal being an extended version of Persona 5, but then Persona 5 Strikers is a spin-off/sequel to Persona 5, not Persona 5 Royal even tho it came out years after Royal, what are they doing over at Atlus :cMan P3 is such a nice game but is a chore having to play so many versions because atlus rather than make a definitive version they rather instead change stuff and add exclusivities to each one so you have the replay the whole game again without even being able to cross your data between versions.
