In otherwords another pit stop to abandoned, from either having to find a real job or to make another boring AVN for Patreon (that will probably make even less, not many sub to new AVNs on that these days due to more and more people getting tired of their bullshit policies). Glad I didn't get too invested in it at least, I was hyped at first but lost like half my enthusiasm after it got reworked before it really even got an update. Same happened to Valhalla Chronicles before Oh Daddy got an oddball ending and then another equally oddball sequel.

It might be unrelated, and if it is NOT an adult game, he may want to keep them totally separate. Considering I've made VN style stories for church youth groups, and have used Ren'Py to create training material for local businesses, I can understand keeping the two ventures completely separated lol. I can't imagine the local Baptist church would want to do business with me in the future if they knew they type of games I am working on in what little spare time I have....

That's news to me. Other than a very few "no sexual content" tagged AVNs I've never heard of Renpy getting used for anything but porn stories.

It's actually also somewhat popular for horror games like Tiny Bunny, Lake of Voices, and Night at the Watermill. I could see it being used for something like a point-and-click murder mystery as well: choices could still very much matter (who dies to the killer still on the loose).

Meh, it's what I was familiar with so I ran with it. They provided all of the graphics, and a "test" they wanted at the end of each section. Was easy enough to slap the graphics on screen, add the accompanying text, then at the end of the section, give them a kind of review/test of what we just went over. Keep track of the score, and at then end output a text file in the game directory with their employee ID in the file name. HR took it from there. I do know I made a couple hundred off of it, and I threw it together over about 2 days at just a couple hours a day. Since they provided most of the material, I just had to slap a little rudimentary code together and slip in the provided resources. It honeslty took me longer to get the output text file to work right than the entire rest of the project. And the church.. it was basically simple straight VNs that had you making "good" or "evil" choices, with the good choices being painfully obvious and the BAD choices being mustache twirlingly evil... and the bad choices always resulted in a game over. TBH I hated it, but they paid me (poorly, but needed cash) so I did it. And again, they provided all of the story and assets, I just had to hack it all together, but they were happy.

very unfortunate, but life happens. this was a fun concept and looked like it was going to be executed fairly well. i hope he's able to get back to it.

I just decided to play this after several months of overlooking it and have to say it definitely had promise. I just found out reading the comments the version I played was a censored one compared to the previous patch or something and honestly I'm pissed to hear it. Why remove that version from off here?
Though it's likely this won't be updated anymore. I'm not holding my breath. Ever since that "incident" ppl have been dropping and abandoning smol content left and right making excuses as to why they're aging them up or just dropping the game all together. I was looking forward to this one too after playing it. If I had one complaint about the game it's that I personally really don't care for the many choices that shape out the MC to become what he is.

That is a bit harsh. Some devs want to have a product and with certain content they can't and would face legal trouble. So of course they have to take it out. Not everyone lives in a country that will respect the freedom of art.

It's still there if you want to check it out. The one labeled "Win (0.1 pre-remake)". It was just a v0.1 though, so it's not like there's a ton of content; be prepared to be disappointed.
