discussion Your thoughts on mini games in games?

I find mini games pointless, I will always skip otherwise unless the game is brilliant and makes it worth the hassle, if there is no skip option I drop it.

if i can skip them i will. i mostly hate those mini games like the ones where you act fast or loose.

Instantly skip them if possible. At least with renpy games it's usually easy to mod around them with minimal effort

being a DIK is about the only game i dont skip them i find them quite fun exept the sliding puzzle

Not a fan of mini games, but they are tolerable when they are expected. There was one VN where the minigames were legit difficult puzzles that was skippable, but they locked you out of special scenes. My attention span is shot because instead of skipping to the next lewd scene I spent an hour trying to solve it instead.

I'm a fan of them when they function smoothly and aren't impossibly difficult. It always strikes me as weird just how many people hate when their porn game has any actual game in it. Like, they'll complain about a visual novel not having enough choices but when they're presented with a simple choice like "Where will you go next?" they start shouting about how much they hate sandboxes claiming it breaks the immersion. Then they click where to go and hold control until the next sex scene.

obviously the mini shouldn't overstay its presence and be sparse

most of the time it is poorly made or boring so skip

Skip them all if possible, but I often play the ones where you just have to click icons on the screen quickly, usually in fighting scenes

I usually skip unless there is some reward for doing them and it is worth it. And then I do it under protest.

I love minigames, but it depends on what kind. I like the ones in Being a DIK and Stranded in Space, but I hate the ones in Fetish Locator.
