discussion Your thoughts on mini games in games?

I don't really see a point to them especially when it's a story based game, it just takes me out of the moment to much

I am not a fan of mini-games in general. I find most of them to be frustrating and they don't usually add much to the overall experience. I always hope that there is a skip mini-games option.

I rather they not be in game. I always opted to skip them if possible.
I find them annoying especially if it is timed and there is no instruction on what you are supposed to be doing and time runs out. And mini games don't always work correctly for one reason or other.

I agree, it can kill a game if you can't skip them

I think it 100% down to if they are done well.

I remember the old Franks Adventure games and one of those had a fishing minigame which I think I remember spending more time on that than the rest of the game.

The flip side is one also had some stupid shooting staff where you had to shoot pigs or something and they were buzzing about the screen at the speed of light. That seriously extracted the urine.

As long as the minigame isn't just clicking as fast as you can I usually don't mind them, though they are typically kind of redundant.

Well, it depends. Sometimes they can be actually fun, and i look forward to doing another, but mostly it's a massive pian and I'll skip if possible.

Mini games that are once only can be fun side quest. Blockers are shit

Depends if they tedious & time consuming then no if it's not too intrusive then it's good to have a little variety, but better if most can be skipped.

in my opinion they can be fun but shouldn´t lock content behind them. I like it when you get an option to chicken out
