Why do people dislike F95?

For me, it's all the childish conflict that arises in many discussions. I like to refer to certain people as NPCs because it's literally the response you'd expect from an NPC or background character: typical insult-filled nonsense, destructive criticism of the content posted, and arguments with middle-school insults on a site where everyone is supposed to be an adult, although it's obvious many aren't. Some can't even be considered adults mentally, and this is coming from someone who considers themselves immature and often childish in their attitude.

I'm not saying everyone is like that. Like everywhere, even here, there are very good people who always comment on interesting and funny things, but the idiots make more noise. The difference is that there's a greater influx of idiots.

If there was a roulette mini-game, we'd all become compulsive gamblers... and then we'd all turn on Heisenberg for including a roulette mini-game.

The wonderful world of gambling, young people now call it gacha.

my problem with them is the admin treats Devs like fucking gods. Any small disagreement with them and the devs just tell the admins to delete your review or ban you from their thread.
I partially agree.

It's true that it's abusive to delete constructive criticism just because it highlights weaknesses, bugs, and flaws in the games, especially since those criticisms are what allow the games to be polished. But it's also true that it's a fucking jungle out there, and many of the reviews are outright insults to the game without contributing anything, with generalizations and statements without any real basis.

You're right in what you say... but if people don't know how to behave, that's what happens.

Oh boy. There's so much. As a person who got banned TONS of time there on 95... let's see.
PLEASE NOTE = I'm not saying I didn't deserve it. Just saying I'm a pro at being kicked out of the bar, so to speak. Assume a new account with each example.

1-As per Petermax77, the mods are very protective of the devs.
-Criticize a dev? The dev call me out. I push back at the dev? Banned.
-Dev is pissed off about leaks to 95. I say "You DO realize that this is a PIRATE site whose SOLE PURPOSE is to STEAL FROM YOU, right?". Banned.

2-Mod hatred of negativity.
-Tell a detailed exactly list of the flaws in a game review. Mods deleted the review. Complain the mods? Banned.
-NO comparing a game to another in reviews. Point out that PROFESSIONAL MOVIE REVIEWERS say things like "Dollar Store John Wick." and that the rule is stupid. Banned.

3-Mod God complex.
-Some mods have literally said (to be fair, after I've quite riled them up) that "WE are the Gods here. No appeal. It's just us." I say "Then call me Satan." Banned.
-Point out that they have promised a tag revamp for YEARS and have a FRACTION of the problems that LC has. Admit to no revamp or get off your ass. Banned.

4-(plenty more where that came from)
-And the result. Come on. You know what I'm gonna write. BANNED.

Self inflicted? Abso-fucking lutely. But let's say the laws change and even LC can't have Games+, Prestige 1+, etc... I'll still pick LC over 95.
That is...
...assuming I'm not...

BANNED!

That differs from person to person. For me F*95 is the #1 resource, there is a great number of game reviews there, not all these reviews are equal, but the law of quantity to quality works, nevertheless, I haven't met reviews of such level here. Someone said that negative reviews are removed there at the request of developers. I'm sorry, but this is nonsense. I am the author of 23 reviews of games on F*95, only 2 of them are about games that I rated 5 points out of five, 4 reviews are about projects that deserve 4 points out of 5. The rest are 1 point out of 5, 2 points out of 5. No one has deleted them. About the lack of communication is also a big question, I personally can't complain about the lack of feedback or lack of communication. However, I only follow discussions of a few projects that interest me personally. And yes, I'm more active there than here, because game discussions (because of the larger number of participants) are simply more interesting. At least the comments are not limited to one or two sentences.

On the second place I have a resource, which I will not name, I will only note that the archives with games there you need to download via torrents.

LC takes the honorable third place. A good backup site, but no more than that.

I understand that most of the participants here are interested in a certain kind of content, yes, for them LC is what they need.

I'm pretty much the same. I've been there for several years and believe I am a relatively well-respected and somewhat known user there.

I mostly give positive reviews, but my negative reviews have never once ran across issues. Some developers do actively hunt down reviews they believe violate the rules, but it's not as if every report will result in a removal. IMO, you can be overwhelmingly negative, but long as you're respectful and articulate, you'll never run across issues. I've also found the mods to be quite responsive and (important for a comparison again LC) consistent in their messaging. However, I have gotten into a couple flame wars there, of which I do remember at least one getting eventually deleted by the mods.

Overall, I think the site is really good for the material that's on it. For the content not on it, you obviously must go elsewhere.

I've only been here on LC for a month, so I haven't built the same understanding of how things work that I have for '95. Obviously my view of this site isn't going to be as well-formed yet, but so far:
  • I like the community. There seem to be a lot of people hanging out and chatting, and I am quickly getting to recognize some names.
  • I don't like the staff communication. There's a lot of it, but plans change often enough for there to be inconsistencies or contradictions from update to update.
  • I don't like how this site feels sketchy. This is probably mostly just the fact I am new and not very comfortable, which I do remember happening with '95 as well.
I see a lot of promise here, and I do see myself becoming a bit of a regular, but I also consider this site to mostly just be a backup in case '95 dies one day. Probably respectable enough to be safe downloading from, but definitely not my first pick.

Did my post title get changed?
LewdCorner is auto-censoring F.95.zone. You can circumvent this by writing it like I did. An no, it not against the rules to do so.

Most people who dislike F.95 do it because of the moderation and the rules, but you can find a ton of dickhead users there too, which is not surpirsing considering the huge size of the site.
Why do people dislike how F.95.zone and it's mods do their stuff?

Pretty much always the deleted reviews broke somehow the rules. But since only a fraction of user actually read them, they complain about the deletion afterwards anyway.
Same with how people often don't follow the rules in game threads and get in trouble for it.
Is this true for everything? No of course not, but it's the vast majority of cases. And then they get angry, get a strike, go apeshit and get a ban. Come here and complain. 🤷‍♂️

Also due to the fact that there are different mods, of course the ruleing will be different too. One mod might not see much issue with a post, another one does. But this is true for every platform.

Personally I never had any issues over there, at least not with the mods, and I've been there for many years. If anything the users are the annyoing part and there are a fuckton of them.
Dev-Dickriders (White Knights, reporting everything they don't like in the game threads; Reporting only negative reviews if the rules are broken, never a positve one)
Professional-Kinkshamers (First one in every game thread, posting "I don' like [kink]!" or "Another [kink] game?" and stuff like that, attacking kinks in a way that's not openly kinkshaming, brigarding is a real thing too)
4chan-Misanthropes (Assholes, Dickheads, can't behave, HAVE to go against the rules, attack people for nothing at all or just because they differ a tiny bit in their oppinion)
Political-Propagandists (Can't help but to include their view in every post, attacking others for theirs, even if not even mentioned, assume everybody who don't openly agree with them to be the exact type of political view they hate)
Ackchyually-Essay-Writers (Always commenting on everything, huge posts, tons of links, don't accept anything that is not the same kind of post as theirs.)

Well, I know you probably won't believe me, and that's ok.

For the game

Temptations of Love, the dev had the "FUNNY" idea of releasing a fake version of his product. It was a while ago. A couple years ago for sure. Instead of sex scenes, the Love Interests were in Pirate Costumes saying "Yarrr." and the like. As in "HA HA. We know you pirated this. You get shit." Their game. Their release. Fine.

BUT

I pointed out that at the time, 95 had a policy that it would delete any files that weren't legit game files. In my review, I quoted the "pirate" thing which you'll notice is in ZERO of the remaining reviews of the link provided above. I asked to mods to consider that although the dev released the file themselves, it MIGHT qualify as such a file and it should be deleted MOSTLY to avoid people for downloading a dud update. I also put in a full review of the game to comply with policy.

The dev mocked me so I mocked the dev back. The mods deleted the review and moved our comments to the Off-Topic section. The dev escalated, and, yeah, I HOLY FUCK ESCALATED. I was banned and I earned it.

But the review for that game was deleted.

If you think I'm full of shit, then I'm full of shit... sure. I'm ok with that. But this would make this quite the elaborate post for a delusion of mine... but who says I'm not deluded?

Also, this wasn't the only game that I got banned / review removed (with other accounts, obviously)... but I'm fucked in the head, autistic, and French, so that tracks...

Not picking a fight with you, Alex1980, but my experience... is really different than yours. But I'll leave the discussion here cuz I don't want to get banned from THIS site. Regards.
And again, it's ok if you don't believe me. You've never seen it. It makes sense for you.

EDIT = and the link is autobot (or whatever the fuck it's called) fucked so you might have to search 95 yourself, sorry.

There's politics on F 94+1?
There are several threads in off-topic and all posts with that are all over General Discussions and Off-Topic.

There is no real reason for that. LC was founded because of a dislike for F.95. and to have a site for smols games that are banned over there.
F.95. deletes every mention of LC too, but for them it has something to do with their rules. It is not allowed to link to sites with banned material, so for them to delete it makes at least sense.

I'm a bit of a fence-sitter here as I lurk in both sites. However, I'm more inclined to leave comments/opinions (whether positive or negative) here on LC than on *95; I find attitudes here are more open-minded and differing views are discussed rather than flamed.

Thank all the gods and goddesses, I didn't know this VN existed. I was probably put off by the synopsis at the time (I've just been fed up with variations on the incest theme for a long time, and here it's just a classic cliché). Quickly looking through the reviews, I realized that I was not wrong to ignore this project. But the developer's move, which you mentioned was witty, we must give him credit:)

I'm probably just tired, but the "Thank all the gods and goddesses" is SUCH a cool phrase, I wish I could give you 2 likes.
However, the whiskey is now telling me that NOW would be a good time to have a nap, so, thanks for the reply, and good night...
