Yeah I don't think anybody is saying every game needs to or should be voiced, but there's definitely room for it. Let devs be creative, the good stuff will find its way to the top and the less good stuff will either help devs improve or just be filtered, cest la vie

Dude, I image most porn game makers are ashamed of what they do and don't want to have to advertise themselves by putting out a casting call for voice actors.

Shame it isnt more common but i'd imagine people dont want to bother hiring VA's as more people means more limits like if your VA just doesnt do the work on time. The adult game industry tends to have games that update rather than selling a full game which creates limitations, ive seen game updates collapse or delayed if a coder or artist just goes MIA and adding VA's can add to this headache.

At first glance, it’s not cheap to hire someone to do voice acting (real voices), but would you want visual novel-style games to be fully voiced? I think it works well with moans or the occasional sound effect, but full voice acting? I’d find it uncomfortable; when I play, I always turn off the music and the voices.

Money is probably the main one, a lot of devs probably struggle to monetize these games enough as is without it. Voices can also be distracting and the way most of these NSFW games are developed releasing patch by patch would mean having to consistently get the VA's back in for lines which continues to be more money and hassle. As for AI voices, I imagine that's limited to the people willing to use AI for the art in their games. I would imagine those making their own art, whether it be drawn themselves or models they make and situate for scenes or even animate themselves, would sensibly be against the use of AI for voices or otherwise in their games.

I think it is more of a question of a budget. Voice acting is definitely possible in 2026 for the entire game and AI would do a good job.

Voicing the game could add like 30-50-100$ per month in game expenses.
