Fantasy and Sci fi stand out to the normal settings

Anything modern setting that has superheroes or other entities capable of massive and quick destruction. Reason being insurance. Can you imagine the premiums if one had to deal with the prospect of having their body and/or property destroyed because a lightning-fast guy turned a corner carelessly? Or a company having to worry its HQ gets pulverised at any moment. I am convinced the insurance industry does not exist in those settings or people are regularly financially ruined because a dude clapped too hard.

Realistic setting. I am seriously interested in history, and the numerous mistakes in “historical” films either simply annoy me or make me laugh.
I am indifferent to fantasy and science fiction.
Although, on the other hand, most of the games here should be classified as urban fantasy to some extent. Typical examples are Summertime Saga and Taffy Tales.

Give me all the settings, just don't make it boring.

Grim dark dystopian low fantasy

i dont mind any setting as long as the gameplay can back it up

for NSFW
real life modern day mostly because most gamemakers aren't great writer. that makes it so that when they create a setting you get mixed results, some give you lore dumps that are a pain to read, some flesh out the world too little, and mostly you get inconsistent lore.
real life makes it so that they don't have to do worldbuilding

for SFW
something about sci-fi just works for me.
I feel like I prefer when they do try and create a setting. It might not be the most professionally made, but it shows a willingness to try something creative. I'd rather a kinda wonky original idea, than a believable unoriginal one.

Medieval and/or grimdark. Could even be sci-fi (Warhammer) but low fantasy medieval is where it's at for me.

Modern contemporary games, or horror settings/scenarios.

Fantasy version of early industrial period. so sort of normal fantasy, but some what more "realistic" or grim.

Modern or fantasy. Medieval also works. sci fi is hit or miss with me.

I would go with modern day real world. Runner up would be post apocalypse.

slice of life is best for me, although sci-fi and fantasy is good too

anything I guess, but high fantasy has more opportunities for monster girls so...

Settings with monstergirls certainly add many more desirable options that I wouldn't say no to, but going off what I've actually most-played I guess it would be a normal small-to-medium town setting (including house-bound settings) with basically no fantastical elements.

Modern days, I'm not a big fan of fantasy.

It depends on the type of game (and rule34 can be applied anywhere).
  • Crime - Modern times, maybe future civilization (with one exception, stealth. I love Styx and Dishonored)
  • Racing - well, no way to race in medieval times, I guess
  • Sexual Dark Fantasies (Corruption, Coercion, Etc...) - Anywhere, anytime (from CoC to Malignant and everything in between)
  • Dating Sims - Any fantastic setting (medieval or futuristic)
  • Survival - I'm a fallout guy, so get me any kind of apocalipse and I'm golden.
That's about it. I'm sure I can give more, but nothing else comes to mind.

I like the real life modern days setting.
Usually with incest games, where the father is not present or is a bastard, and the son becomes "the man of the house".
Cliche in incest games, but I like it.
