The very origin of the word is linked to loss. The Japanese word originates from “loser.”
netoru (寝取る): 寝 = to lie down, to sleep (in this case, to have sex); 取 = to take, to steal, to assume, to seize; る = husband, wife, someone’s partner.To sexually steal someone’s (wife or husband).
So NTR is always related to loss. What changes is the agent of that loss:
- Netorare: another person is the agent of the loss
- Netorase: the partner themselves is the initiator of their own loss
- Netori or Netore: you cause the loss of another person for yourself
That’s the summary. There are more variations, but they are not important as fetishes.
Uwaki is used when there is no loss — the person never finds out about the cheating, or doesn’t care, or forgives without any loss or humiliation.

- Polyamory = One person with several partners, and those partners may have other partners in common or outside, all consensual and everyone knows about everyone.
- Swingers = Couples exchange partners reciprocally; orgy of couples.
- Stag/Vixen = The dominant cuckold. The wife is submissive, the husband decides with whom the wife will have sexual relations, controls the sexual dynamic, may participate or not, and does not accept humiliation.
I like it without humiliation, but usually the games always end up leading to humiliation and the MCs end up being dumb and pathetic guys who can’t sexually satisfy the women, so they have to go with other guys and the humiliation starts. And the content ends up going into netorase or netorare.
