What is one movie everyone should watch at least once?

The road 2009
Its very hard to watch, but it shows us how bad and evil people can be in certain circumstances
The weird thing was both the book AND movie never said exactly what it was that happened. Nuclear war? Asteroid strike? Supervolcano? Something else?

The Last Starfighter, first movie to use full animated sequences. Before that all special effects were done using camera tricks. It is the movie that started the special effect era we live in today. And a quote from that movie made me understand the only thing standing in the way of my success was me: "Listen Centauri. I'm not any of those guys, I'm just a kid from a trailer park"

The "Godfather" trilogy, especially the first, the movie is 99.99% exactly the same as the book written by Mario Puzo.

I have been a film buff since I saw the premiere of Star Wars in 1977, and I have seen hundreds of films, many of them works of art (and those I have not seen) but I liked these three, which is almost impossible to achieve. The Lord of the Rings trilogy almost did it but I also recommend it.

I saw that a few times as a kid.

The porn version of Cinderella from the 70s. About the 1st I ever saw.

The one that has the most references to it of all time "The Wizard of Oz" I.E. " I don't think we are in Kansas any more".

Hana-bi (Fireworks)
Hana-bi and Sonatine have such strong sountrack , but my choice goes to Baron Munchausen

If it's a movie you should watch once and only once, definitely Requiem for a Dream. The dream turns into a nightmare by the end of it.

Intersteller is an excellent movie...watched it a while back, was on the edge of my seat the whole time

Neverending Story
preferrably in your formative years, so the trauma is repressed; only to resurface and be comprehended in adulthood
