I'm somewhat surprised that no one has mentioned any of the recent(ish) Disney films. It doesn't really matter what modern Disney film you watch (Star Wars, live action remake, etc.). They all pretty much show how IDIOTS can destroy what SHOULD be good movies and destroy the good will of fans.

Mel Brookes is/was one of the GREATS. I would recommend almost ANY of his works (Spaceballs is fun but questionable as a MUST SEE). 'Blazing Saddles' is good for Westerns but 'Young Frankenstein' is also AWESOME for the Moster movie genre.

Just a thought.

Already mentioned - but Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Annihilation may not be the best movie overall, but I'd watch it solely for the ending. The ending sequence coupled with the amazing synthesizer soundscapes gives you this uncomfortable feeling that I feel no other movie has recreated. If possible, watch with a nice sound system or nice headphones turned way up lol. The sound effects give me chills
