What genres are you OK with in games but bother you in other media, or vice versa?

Incest. It's okay in games, but in real life it often comes in the form of parents sexually abusing their underage children. Periodically I see news reports about another arrest of a father (usually fathers) who had sexual contact with his 10-14 year old daughter/daughters. In 2018, the case of three desperate daughters who killed their father for regularly sexually abusing them was all over the news. The sisters were acquitted in the trial. In 2021, the girls were legally recognized as the injured party.
So things are not as happy in real life as they are in games.

Personally, I like NTR tags, more specifically Netori. I also like rape tags as well.



But in books any NTR or rape content is very offputting to me. Mostly because there tends to be something from the perspective of the victim or the victim's lover. I also find it difficult to watch in certain movies and shows as well. Again I think it's the point of view that is the problem in those cases, but I find in these forms of media I usually can't stand something that turns me on in games, hentai, or porn.

I think that is an issue for me as well, the "I love you but I'm addicted to sex more" really doesn't sit well with me in more serious media.

I used to avoid BDSM, torture, and other pain related tags in general. I still don't like them, but they are more like a "gross, skip" than a "alt+F4, return, ctrl+mayus+supr/delete"

Netori, mainly because in a game it doesn't harm real people, but to hear about it through media makes you feel bad for the guy or girl involved. I've been in a situation where my friend's date tried to hook up with me. I couldn't accept it, I felt like I was betraying a brother if I accepted them because he was out of state. So media and in real life, the idea if stealing someone else's partner is a cold one, can only ever tolerate it through games because at the end of the day, the game didn't hurt any real people.
