I usually find myself on the forums reading updates and comments, in the harem and 5+ LI/lewdable characters its not uncommon for the thread to devolve into a debate about the best girl. Hell, sometimes the devs post polls in the forums about the best girl not just in their discords and supporter sites. More often than not, in a game I really enjoy mind you, someone will mention an LI and I will realize I have no clue which character it is. Eventually I realized that no matter how much I like a game, unless a characters development resonates with me or truly stands out, I am not going to remember their names between updates.
Now I wonder, who else finds it hard to remember the names of multiple LI's in a game, let alone lots of games?
On a side and yet related note, it is very likely that I just have issues remember girls names. As I have gotten older, I have come to realize I can only remeber the names of a few of my ex's. At first I assumed it was just passage of time and how far removed I am from the relationships. Until this morning I remembered one girl specifically, I have often joked with family and friends how I can not remember her name even though I knew her for years in middle and high school. But now I remember that in high school I was loitering around the yearbook club waiting for my older sister/ride home who was in charge that year and someone asked me for the last name of a girl cause the info for it was wrong. The girl in case was that same friend, and who had until a few weeks earlier been my girlfriend of a few months(apparently I didnt give her enough attention, all good didnt care as I was opposed to getting serious at such a young age). Anyway, I had no clue what her last name was at the time, and I am now remembering how I was a little embarrassed when everyone looked at me when someone asked out lout "how can you know a girl for years and date her for months but you dont know her last name?". Honestly she never said, I never asked, and if it came up. We matched rubberbands in our braces and ugly made out in the quad at school during lunch, thats what i remember. I guess I remember the important people and important things in life and relationships.
So, maybe forgetting the names so easily is not related to the story, just my type of personality. But am I the only one? Curious thought and I would like to hear other's thoughts, even if you are one of those weird people who can remember the name of every/most girl(s) in a game without photographic memory.
