Every time i open this site i think, maybe i just should just fix my head. How do you people cope?

I'm all for people seeking out professional help for any issues, both physical and mentally.

If you think something is wrong with you for seeking out fake digital representations of (very) young looking persons (who might or might not be modeled like humans), go ahead and seek help with that.

However, you should not assume that all who visit these sites have that same feeling or would be OK with taking these preferences into the physical world. I'm sure most of us can separate the fiction presented here from the reality outside our brains.

* I shrug my shoulders *. I don't know, maybe psychotherapy is a useful thing, but I served in the army, people with cockroaches in their brains are not allowed there.

Love the idea of therapy, but a lot of the provides near me prefer to throw drugs at the problem rather than actually try and help. I tend to use music and the like to give myself my own form of therapy tbh.

its an incredibly effective source of healing however some therapists feed into their clients delusions too much and make them worse people

i think we all should we go at leats once in our life go to therapy, you even dont have to have a real problem, just express yourself to the therapeutic

It is something good, therapy can let you heal and strengthening you psychologically.

The outstanding scientist and science communicator Carl Sagan in his last book "The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark" compared psychoanalysts with palmists, spirit summoners, etc. I see no reason to disagree with him.

for just one second, sit back, relax & think about honestly telling a complete stranger about the things in your head.
than realize that everything done to "fix" you is random & is based on a per person basis & than think to yourself that "fixing" yourself would be better.

maybe its because of therapy / therapists that the western world is so fucked up (starting from what teachers are taught in their early childhood education classes over the last 30 years)

If you think you need help then go seek it.
Therapy can help but you need to know who to talk to, because you can be misunderstood and it will get you into more troubles.

Depending on from where you are, therapy can feel like a scam, but in most of the world they are a proper medical branch.
If you think you would benefit from it, do it. Simple as that.
You can be as open or opaque in there as you want to be, often just talking about things to a real person can help easing the mind.

I went to therapy due to certain issues I've had but I realized that it's not for me. The cliche advice of working out turned out far better for my situation.

I don't judge people who go to therapy, for some of them it's quite effective. For me, it was very expensive, we kept going in circles and the therapist wasn't even hot.

Some people need it

I don't.

I keep telling myself that

But w***ing is free.

More in an effort to be helpful: it really depends on what you want to change about yourself/your life. Most people coming here, I would guess, already have a serious addiction to p*rn. How that affects their lives, and the lives of those around them, only they can say. And whether or not they want to do something about it.

If you really do want to make a change in your life, therapy can be a good first step. It's worth thinking about the costs and the limitations of therapy before you take that path, but they are more quantifiable than the benefits, and so the list of reasons not to do it may end up longer than the list of reasons to do it. Which shouldn't, in itself, put you off. We all find reasons not to do stuff, all the time. And many of us find it really hard to make changes in our lives without external support. In the end it will be you making the change, not the therapy. Good luck!

I look at them the same way as chiropractors. They can help some people over a short or medium term, but if they want you to keep coming back forever then you`re creeping into scam territory.

I went to therapy for depression,
They basicly told me to find a hobby.
Now I'm addicted to porn.
The depression is gone tho.
So I guess it worked.
