I realized that in games where you can choose your MC's name, I always use the same name, but it's *not* my name. I almost always call my character "Doug" for some reason and if I have to pick a last name I use "Douglas" so I guess in my mind there's this dude out there named Doug Douglas just laying pipe fucking EVERYWHERE.

What do you do?

There's a YouTuber named Doug Doug that I like to watch so it's kinda funny you said that's your preferred mc name, cus now I just imagine that guy laying pipe on all these women lol

I leave it default if it's not too weird, and if it is, I pick a different name every once in a while. Currently, my fallback name is Matthew.

I either keep the default name or just think of a random one. The name doesn't really matter at all to me.

I usually use my middle name, since I've always liked it more than my first name. If there's a character in the game with that name already and they show up often enough to cause confusion, I'll begrudgingly use my first name.

Originality not my forte, I usually call my MC 'MC'.

The first game I played had the default name be Max and that is now the name of everyone of my characters. His horny ghost now possesses all other protags. Maxwell Maxington if asked for first and last.

Glorb. No idea where i got that from, but every protagonist is glorb for me.

I have a primary and a couple of alternates I use if my primary doesn't fit or if there is another major character with my primary. There are a few where I've chosen something more fitting to the setting (Desert Stalker, for example, didn't really lend itself to an English name and I didn't like "Zaton" or whatever the default was). For VNs that were in the Sinners section, I tended to keep the default for some reason.

whenever its any RPG i mostly go for Alton, but if its fantasy then i go for Valen, been switching between those two for years.
