Used to change the name to "Peter"...no clue why, because I don't know anyone named like that. As of late though, I just use the name that's given. If I _have_ to choose a name, then good ol' Peter is still reliable at least.

Most games are set in the US, so if I used a name from someone I know IRL it would just be weird for immersion.

I dont use RL names since i dont know how their story will go.
However, i have a few basic names i always use if i cant stand a standard name and my protagonists are always "Saya Wang" or "Yen lo Wang" and if Yen lo has daughters the cutest one of them is always Saya ^^

I love self-inserting myself, so I always pick my own name. Only once has it actually been the default in the game unfortunately, but I can't remember what it was.

If it is fantasy, I named them Delta. If it is set in a modern urban setting, I usually go with Raphael, sometimes Michael (I like archangel names...although I think archangels would not like what I do with their names lol)
