I always let a game go for a few updates before I try it. too many times v0.01 comes out, and is abandoned as quickly as it started
That's right. I do a bit the same. I prefer games that have regular updates and those that are finished. It's so frustrating to start a game you like and then find out it's been abandoned.I always let a game go for a few updates before I try it. too many times v0.01 comes out, and is abandoned as quickly as it started
a mix of tags, description, and game images, alongside occasionally reading the comment sections. I exclusively play Ren'py for the most part, and theres certain tags I DESPISE, so if I see them theres a 50/50 I avoid it entirely, but I may check the comments to see if the dev just added it in an easily avoidable (not skippable, AVOIDABLE, as in it doesn't happen period if you don't choose it) way. I also always check the images, because (especially when it comes to 2d) there are some styles I just cannot stand. I also tend to check the changelogs just to get a general idea of game length, no point in playing something that just released its first demo. What criteria do you use to choose your games to play? (e.g. description of the content, Pictures from the game, user rating etc.)
Mine is the same except i don't look at the rating. Sometimes take note of negative comments, though.1. Tags
