I prefer to earn the galleries. It's more rewarding that way, and it keeos my attention longer.

If I just instantly unlock things I get bored. My adhd kicks in and I'll quit whatever it is I was playing.

It's really nice when VN's have littke icons or items hidden in scenes that click to unlock extra content. It helps to keeo me focused.

Depends on the game, I hate grindfests so for those I'd rather unlock the gallery straight away or I'll just look online for it that way I dont waste my time with a download

Depending on the game you can use Ren'Py's console to modify values to skip grind/progress faster. I believe ctrl+O opens it.

Do you prefer to have to earn the gallery or do you want it all available to you right off the bat, and why?
I personally prefer to be able to access it all right away, I don't think it detracts much from the accomplishment of earning it.

I mean everyone would prefer it to be unlocked from the beginning. but earning it is better sometimes.

I think if it was unlocked from the beginning then I just defeats the purpose of even playing the game so I think it should gradually unlock as you progress.

It can also be a good way to see if your missing any scenes your and how many.

I prefer to have an unblocked gallery in 2 situations:
when there are multiple choices to do that lead to different scenes, so i can see the situations i skipped
when i'm not sure if i like the game, so I can see some scenes to get a better idea

Locked for sure. If I wanted to not play the game I'd watch a lets play of the sex scenes.

Hmm. I don't actually use the gallery very much. Sometimes I check it to see what I missed. So I guess locked at first with the ability to unlock missed scenes.
