Thoughts on repeatable/grind system in games?

the grind itself has to be the fun part. otherwise it's a down from me.
 
i like grindy games to an extent, but if you are haivng to repeat the same event like 5+ times to get to the next step then its too much, especially it it forces you to do it over several days, i dont like having a job to remember to make sure i did x transaction at y time each day.

slow corruption the love interest ideally through multiple available events at each step so im not forced to spam the same one over and over is the best.
im a sucker for being able to see stats to see how far im progressing
 
To much grind is a big game killer for me. Also I'm not so kien with the choice systems where you miss out contant.
 
I don't enjoy games that have a lot of grinding.
 
Most of them are RPG games, if there was something like support like cheat engines you would sit there for a long time. This can be challenging.
 
Every time you grind there should be another reward (h scene) and not just an increase in stat or money
 
Not a fan of grind as most games with it tend to abuse it.
You have to make it either short enough that people will put up with it or engaging enough that people want to actually grind.
Works well enough for true RPGs where the goal is to improve characters but in porn games where most of the playerbase wants to get to the good bits, it is harder to justify having a lot of grind IMO.
 
small segments are fine but when its most of the game its annoying
 
It really depends on how the mechanic is embedded. But if it is only mindless grind, not my type of game.
 
Grind systems are the worse, personally I use the universal renpy mod for anything with a grind these days. It has succesffuly progressed more games than it has srewed up.
 
sometimes grindy games are too much, by the time you unlock you dont think the grind was worth it.
 
Not a big fan of grinding, especially when it's for something like money, and the scene doesn't change much. If the scene changes every time you do it (showing you getting better or different outcomes) I think that's better because it feels more natural to the story.
 
I don't mind grinding as long as there is progression to the grind. I should see at least a little something new with each repeat. Otherwise it is grinding just to fluff up and pad the game-play.
 
Grind doesn't belong in games full stop.

Yes. And in the next update the previous grind should be replaced by the grind in the new update.

if that makes sense?!
 
An example would be game Golden Mean where you have to repeat scenes to unlock more slow grind but imo is great considering first scene is very vanilla and later scenes would be more corrupt and saucy!
Do you have the link to that game? I'm curious, but couldn't find it here :cry:
 
I don't like sandbox games anyway and this "grinding" feature mostly occurs in them. Normal VNs usually do not have this 🤷‍♂️
Normal VN's don't have a lot of choices... Stick to AVN's.
