Thoughts on repeatable/grind system in games?

I'm not a fan grind however it really does depend on the amount, having to do a repeatable event a few times is reasonable. the ones i hate is when you are forced to grind a stat for 20mins just to unlock a tease scene or ones that use escalating grind the higher you get the stat, a game i looked at the other day had a system where the stat had a reduced chance you gained an increase the higher you got it, to the point that you got to about 60 and you had less than 10% chance of gaining anything with all the good content starting at stat level 70

I like some repeatable stuff because it makes the sandbox feel a little more alive. I hate any sort of minigame though

I don't mind grind in adult games, as long as you access new content quite regularly. Aaand as long as it makes sense.

Most games that have grinding in it sucks bigtime, but I think some that you have to do the same thing a few times to "go furhter" is fine. Like a massage for instance, if you can go further and further each time you give someone a massage, that's fine up to a point.

A Family Venture is a Prime Example of grinding buuuuuut IMHO it is worth it. NUFF SAID!! :P

Carry ON!!! :ROFLMAO:

I think a requirement to unlock something is a reasonable inclusion, but in almost all cases grinding is a waste of time and not fun and should be avoided by developers

It's just a way to stretch out a scene to get the illusion of content

Some games are able to find the right balance like life choices, it can be a grind depending on how you play it, but the ability to reduce the grind is there if you know how. the important part is not to lock all the content behind a huge amount of time. Very few really want to spend hours grinding to only unlock a few teases

An example would be game Golden Mean where you have to repeat scenes to unlock more slow grind but imo is great considering first scene is very vanilla and later scenes would be more corrupt and saucy!

It depends on how its added for me. Repeatedly doing the same thing gets tedious and annoying. Especially if you have to do it more than 3-5 times and have little variation each time. I prefer when the grind is subtle and not stopping you from progressing the main story. Id rather have my grind disguised behind side content objectives, story, interactivity, and provide something rewarding along the way. If im grinding a 9-5 job to save money for some item like is common in these games, let me unlock new scenes, features, and content along the way. Give the grind enough substance that you get a dopamine hit every couple in-game days/screens. Make it immersive and make me forget that im playing a game. In the specific game you mentioned it wasn't as bad as some I have played but at a point i did start getting annoyed. Even more once I finished all content since up to the version i played, there wasn't a whole lot happening outside getting touchy.

Nutaku ruined any enjoyment I once had for grinding in porn games

What about websites that make you grin? :ROFLMAO:

Or, seriously, people that reports LC and is the source of all the grind...

Generally dislike it, I think the point where it starts bothering me is something like Virtues/Phoenixes, where you need 5 more points for next level, but the points are taken with actions that give you some tidbits about the story. But those tidbits are rather useless and it's not 5 different actions, so seeing the same one twice...

when i have to grind in a game i tend to skip the dialogs missing part of the plot and i like to read but i'm annoyed and bored by the grind. there is no need to make a game grindy; i personally play games to release stress.

Grinding same thing over and over to earn enough points or money to advance especially if the points/money earned per grind is very small is a game killer for me . I usually cheat if I can with this because I don't want to waste my time grinding.

Grinding, if it feels meaningless and repetitive, then for me it's only a sign that the Dev wants to artificially stretch the playtime.
In my opinion that shows lack of imagination to create captivating content.
So usually i consider it a waste of time and if possible i WILL cheat my way through.

choice based i dont mind but i hate grinding on sandbox games. Thats one of the reason i stay away from sandbox games

It depends, i play many gacha games as F2P, incluging GBF so im used to grinding but in adult games, only in H RPGs i can accept some grinding as long as is not an unnecessary time consuming element to increase the duration of the game.

Definitely needs ta be a healthy balance between grind and reward, too much grind and no reward makes for a bad time

Yea, times are tough at the moment and the troll-/keyboard warrior brigade become more and more extrem'ist.
It most probably will become worse for the forseeable future. Not necessarily on this site but overall. :cautious:
