Images were generated with AI tools instead of a typical rendering application.
I've been asked to fix some images that have been corrupted somehow on the server end. This may have triggered a false alarm for an "update" because i had to edit the first post.

Working on the next update as we speak.

Also taking time to improve upon some of the old images and improve some images that turned out very cartoonish compared to the rest of the game.

You tried to load an old savegame :/

Fresh installation or delete the savegames is a workaround. I fixed it, but the fix is not out yet and will be part of the next patch.

Explanation: I added a few variables to save the status of the map navigation on the ship. Due to a Renpy bug, these variables are not properly initiated when an old savegame is loaded and i have to do it myself. Didn't know that at the time.

That's a nice upgrade to the blonde girl's appearance. The cop looks better too, but nobody's really playing the game to see him.

My only critique would be that the art style isn't terribly consistent between different characters. The blonde girl is cute with the big eye little nose anime style. That's fine when she's in a scene by herself. When she is in a scene with several other people that have more realistic proportions, she just looks really out of place.

I'm not saying you should go back and rework older parts of the game. They are fine just as they are.

AI can make some funny glitches though. In one of the programs on the ship tv, there was this girl with freckles. At one point in the video her freckles become detached from her face and are just floating there as her face moves behind them. Again, I'm not saying go back and fix that. Just go forth and make better stuff with the experience you've gained making the early parts of the game.

The inconsistencies are an issue i am working on with each update, and i have to balance the time between improving upon the old stuff and adding new stuff.
The blonde girl Maria has been reworked to look a bit more like a semireal style. Her eyes are still veeery big, but other than that she kind of fits in better now. It's by the way the 3rd remake for her.

Or the girl with the freckles n the "Hyperlube" ad: Wouldn't happen with today's tools. It's not just AI, it's also sometimes remnants of assets I made with old AI in simpler times when the Hyperlube vid was state of the art, because AI singing and lipsyncing just wasn't a thing back then and none of the girls had 6 fingers or 3 legs, all heads were attached and kept this way during the whole video and there were no flying penises. For such a result back at the time, you often had to rerun like 10-20 times after optimizing the prompt. So some vids are still in there as they are more for their sentimental value. It may not be considered art and it still has a few funny glitches here and there, but there is certainly work in this vids.

Today's audience is getting more and more demanding, because newer tools (also commercial tools that cannot be used for this kind of content) set the standards. I try to improve especially on the start of the game, and next will be some of the early steamy vids, especially with Helene, because a very good first impression is very important and this is the part that got most inconsistencies to fix until today. The later chapters / content represent the more current state of the art.

Appreciate your feedback though!

Reinstall worked thankx

I was skeptical of this game when it first came out, very skeptical on the use of AI mainly. Still kind of am at times but for the most part I have been enjoying what has been created. We'll see where it goes and how it ends. It's got some serious potential, just needs a few tweaks as with all art being created.

I’d like to personally thank the dev for his tutorial and help; he’s a really nice guy and took the time to assist me with quite a few things. His game is great, and creating assets with AI really isn't that easy. take my word for it. I also don't quite understand the hate directed at AI art by some users; some actually seem to think it’s just a matter of entering a prompt and that’s it.

For anyone interested in AI art, here’s a tutorial I found:

The dev did create a good tutorial as well. But i have not found his tutorial in the internet, and i dont know whether i have the permission to share anything what he have written to me in a private message, anyway the tool doesnt matter, to make good results takes much effort and time with any tool

Would this also explain why the animations aren't working for me? I loaded up a save from the previous version 😬

Minimax is very good at creating such cineastic scenes, following crazy prompts in a super impressive way. Making the game with the current and future AI tech is gonna be so much fun!

I assume you are using a local AI model given the nature of the game. You must be running a beast of a computer to do that. Would you mind sharing the computer's rough specs?

Sure, 100% local. My little AI workstation is a rather old machine. RTX 3090, which means 24 GB of VRAM, a little more RAM than average (should be more than 32GB), but nothing special. The GPU is the main asset. Made 5 years ago but it still can do some damage. I shot it for about 1000 bucks, used, and invested just a few hundred more before the RAM crisis really began.

Thanks, that's actually a bit less horsepower than I expected. It's good to know you can still do quality work on a machine that doesn't cost a second mortgage on the house.

I was pricing some setups the other day and was absolutely blown away by the cost of hardware to run some of the AI models.
