Temporary Members+ / Coin System Experiment
7-day test to measure real engagement

I’m going to be running a temporary experiment on LewdCorner. For around 7 days, I’ll be testing what happens when the normal coin/rank grind is removed from Members+ access.

This is not permanent. This is not a site reset. This is not me deleting everyone’s coins. This is not me nuking ranks forever. This is a short test to see how users actually engage when the site is not built around grinding coins just to access Members+.

Important: Coins Are Being Disabled, Not Deleted

During this test, I will also be disabling every coin/currency system except Donation Coins. To be very clear: I am disabling the coins. I am NOT deleting them.

Your coins are not being nuked. Your coin balances are not being erased. The currencies are being turned off temporarily for the test so I can see how the site behaves without the normal coin grind affecting activity.

The only coin system that will stay active during this test is Donation Coins. Donation Coins are staying active because they are tied to donations/support and should not be mixed into this experiment.

Why I’m Testing This

A lot of feedback has been brought up recently about LewdCorner feeling too complicated, too locked behind systems, or too focused on coins/ranks instead of actual community activity. Some users feel like the old LewdCorner was easier to use because people were here for games, updates, comments, and sharing — not just grinding coins, chasing ranks, or farming reactions.

So I want to test something simple: if the coin/rank wall is lowered for Members+, do users actually engage more?

I want to see if this helps with more real discussion, more activity in game threads, more useful feedback, more broken-link reports, more outdated-game reports, more reviews, and less useless filler posting just to earn coins.

What Is Changing Temporarily

For this 7-day test:

  • The normal Members+ coin/rank access requirement will be disabled or lowered for testing.
  • Most coin/currency systems will be disabled.
  • Donation Coins will remain active.
  • Coins are not being deleted.
  • Balances are not being nuked.
  • This is not permanent.

After the test, I’ll review what happened and decide what makes sense going forward.

What This Does NOT Mean

This does not mean coins are permanently gone, ranks are permanently gone, Members+ is permanently free, Donation Coins are being removed, past supporters are being ignored, everyone’s balances are being deleted, or the site is doing another giant reset.

Again: disabled does not mean deleted.

What I’m Watching During The Test

During the 7 days, I’ll be watching whether activity increases, whether game threads get better replies, whether users contribute more useful posts, whether people report more outdated games or broken links, whether users leave more reviews, whether Members+ becomes more active, whether removing the grind reduces low-effort posting, and whether opening access causes problems.

If this helps, it tells me something. If it does not help, that also tells me something. Either way, I get actual results instead of guessing.

Why This Matters

LewdCorner needs more real activity, not fake activity. Not people posting “thanks” or “good game” just to farm coins. Actual useful activity means talking about games, posting useful feedback, reporting outdated threads, helping update OPs, posting working fixes/codes, writing real reviews, helping newer users, and making the site feel alive again.

If the coin/rank grind is hurting that, then I need to know. If the coin/rank system still has value after the test, then I need to know that too.

What I Need From Users

If Members+ access is easier during this test, use it properly. Do not just lurk for 7 days and then say nothing changed.

Post feedback, report broken links, comment on games, leave reviews, and tell me what works or what still sucks. If Members+ feels useful, say why. If Members+ feels pointless, say why. If the site feels better without the coin grind, say that. If it feels worse, say that too.

After The 7 Days

After the test, I’ll review what changed. Possible outcomes could be Members+ going back to the normal system, Members+ requirements being adjusted, coin/rank access being simplified, some currencies staying disabled longer, some systems being reworked, contributor rewards being improved, or nothing major changing if the test does not help.

Nothing is final yet. This is a controlled test, not a permanent decision.

Final Point

LewdCorner needs to be easier to use, more active, and less focused on pointless grinding. For 7 days, I want to see what happens when Members+ access is opened up and most coin systems are temporarily disabled.

Donation Coins will stay active. Everything else is being disabled for the test.

Disabled, not deleted.

Use the 7 days. Give real feedback. Help me see what actually improves the site.

i also decreased the (Wait Time Between Reactions) from 90 & 60 to 30 & 15 seconds.

I don't know if it needs to be emphasized, but just so everyone knows, we'll be keeping a close eye on this. This isn't meant to intimidate anyone; it's just to make it clear that the rules are still in effect.

Ok you're doing a test, for me member + is a good thing but it's important to keep a possibility to have it for free.
I don't want to pay for any sort of porn.
Most dev I've seen there just want to share a story, their creation, their art.
For some of them money is important but there is others that just want to be famous or simply share what they made.
Lewdcorner is a forum, the use of it is to permit connection between artists and users.

but you also have to remember running a site like lewdcorner is not free, and i am not putting hosting fees on my credit cards again.

From the side of someone who basically lurks, I think this is good. I am also glad to see the post reaction time being reduced.

All I want is for this not to turn into what F95 has become. We should focus on building community and traffic, sharing our creations with everyone here without being told what is or isn’t allowed beyond some basic rules. Supporters of the site should still be rewarded properly, and I believe we could have a very healthy and active community.

I hope this test becomes a very useful data.

I like the coins incentive for interactions, but I think Members+ being easier to access for everyone sounds good. To be fair tho, I got my M+ access two years ago and I just lurked and never posted anything lol.

This sounds like a good idea, I was never super active due to it just looking like a lot of work to get anywhere so why bother?

First week is prob not a good sample for a long term goal. If the focus will be the community/artists and make their stay here be more welcoming instead of finding more ways to make people pay to unlock parts of the site or constant forced threads asking for donations, the site will inevitably be more active and have more members/artists that will also indirectly bring you more content/donations.

if all goes good, ill extend it to 2 weeks.

My own personal story... I found LC looking for new games/VNs and worked to get my + and started working towards the other ranks. It was fun. I enjoyed the discussions, participating in Mime's daily art forums, and the access to the games/VNs. I liked it well enough that I've donated a few times to try to help keep the lights on.

But the changes get exhausting. The coins changed twice. The way the bank/vault works keep changing. The availability and price of the ranks keeps changing. I'll be working towards something just to have a new change come along that makes my previous efforts moot.

I get that the admins and mods are trying to make this a better place, but at this point it's like you're just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks, and when something does stick, there's no guarantee that it will still be here next week. Because of the constant flux, I find myself coming here less and less, engaging less and less, and questioning whether I want to continue donating.

I think if you want to make LC a community that people want to engage with and support, the site needs to stabilize and have some feeling of continuity between logins.

this is also why i put a pause on credits, i am going to be merging activity coins to lewdcoins straight 1:1, im also going to restore all prestige ranks in shop and make a better overview of said ranks, and 1 new donator rank (overview of this rank is classified for now), but i am working my hardest to stabilize the site, i also made it so reviews give credits but all reviews with comments go to waiting for approval so no one can abuse it.

I am a major lurker, not only here but in all my socials. So it is certainly me, not the site rules.

That said, I feel divided here. On the one hand the M+ restriction was put in place to protect the site from reports. I don't know how much does it really help though. On the other hand, forcing users to participate will bring a lot of empty interactions, which as you say is not desired... But maybe some of those get to like it?

I am sorry not to be of much use, but I wanted to, at least, say thanks for the effort you put in this site!
