I dont know if i am crazy but i almost never play anything with sound enabled, the first thing i ever do is mute all sound and i am not sure if it is a hold over from when i was younger and was trying to not get caught or not especially since in my day to day i love music.
I typically mute things entirely, though I've started doing that less lately (blame games like projekt passion or eternum for actually having really good soundtracks). but I still mute voices/moans/any other noise people might make if given the choice because I simply do not like hearing them

i'm playing with headphones all the times ... the thing i hate the most is when there is LOUD music in the menu ... i then lower the volume for the music in game to like 10% ... or when there is no sound for 80% of the game and then a random KNOCK on a door in game make me jump and throw my headphone .... i wait for my heart to restart and i lower the sound effect ...

I personally don't like it when a VN was made without sound. The sound work can really add to the story-telling, be it music, ambiance or sound cues. A VN without sound feels a little... "lazy" ^^

I use headphones. Good sound design really adds to the experience for me, plus, someone went through a lot of effort for it.

Headphones and sound turned down to 50%, is doesn't really bother me as much as most

i usually bring the music down to 1% or 3% almost instantly once i start any game because almost all games have the music blasting in the menu and in gameplay is distracting, but sound and voice volumes i tend to leave it at 25% more or less

I prefer the one with sounds (music, sfx, etc) since I could got bored pretty fast. But there's an exception that if the game have a dogshit audio quality, I prefer to mute it ASAP

The voice acting in these games is usually extremely unprofessional, so I prefer to turn it off and turn on some YouTube playlist instead.

No music, no sound, no voice 😜

If the game is silent, I'll typically put on trance music with female vocals. That's a decent substitute.
no way holy gooner hahahaha but i get it the silence kinda unimmersive, for me i feel a little like a discord mod when the game is silent

Reading while listening to beautiful music, enjoying a movie soundtrack. So if the dev takes the trouble to create or find good music, why deprive yourself of it? Some devs know how to play the right sounds and music at the right time. It adds so much to the atmosphere of the game.

For AVNs I rarely play with sound enabled, but sometimes I will depending on the mood of the game

I honestly almost never play any AVNs with sound. You mostly got the same vanilla sounding background music and when the game is voiced it sounds horrendous most of the time. Gotta admit that some Adult-oriented Metroidvania games have some great soundtracks though!

I like the when there's background music, as long as it isn't obnoxious. But voices and moans are almost always really poorly recorded or just sound strange... no like. There are some AVNs that I've nearly fallen asleep to because I was just reading a damn picture book at that point.

Hate games without sound. Don't wanna sit in silence

I like voices and good music during playing. I use headphones when I'm playing.
