Yeah I almost never have sound on. I find little value with the sounds. I even sometimes just mute my whole computer when I play to make sure.

I'm curious.. why do you do that? Feel free to deny me the answer I seek with a swift slap to my face.

I don't really care about the music so I turn it down

I mute everything. I only wish I could mute new ones before I even open them. Some of these intros are way too loud.

I never mute, unless the sound is really bad. It adds quite a bit of atmosphere is done right.

Voiced games? I usually just click through while reading, having the text and the voice compete for my attention. I don't really know why I don't mute, it's super annoying.. :ROFLMAO:

I always silence the music, I leave the rest in case the game has some sound in the action, which they generally don't have and it detracts from the experience.

The question has to be broken down in subparts: Background music. Normal sound effects. Lewd sound effects (including moans and gasps). Actual voice acting.

Of course these can be subdivided further and also overlapping. For instance some games have background music that we the player hear but which is not happening in the game world, and also music that is happening in the game world like if a NPC plays an instrument. And a game that is voice acted might also have the voice actor do lewd noices including words spoken in lewd scenes.

The games that have music so good that I leave it on are so few that I can probably mention them from memory directly. Lessons in Love is the prime example, where I actually tracked down a lot of the music and put in my mp3-player. Best example from LiL is probably , pretty much Anime perfection.

Tales from the Unending Void is another one where the music really works. Where LiL's best music imho is about damaged vulnerability, TFtUV's music is all about the space and sci-fi feeling, and as all sci-fi buffs (and obviously Perverteer) know scifi is all about Sense of Wonder, which the music conveys perfectly.

One thing that I realize now that I think about it is that I generally want background music to not have any lyrics, or if it has that they are in a language that I don't understand at all.

I generally like a bit of lewd sound effects, unless they are over-the-top or obnoxious, and also they can't be reused too much in different scenes. It can be a bit problematic if the characters are hebe or loli, but have a bit too adult voices, and I have to mention Rational Chaos as a game that at times fails a little here. (yeah I know all are 18 ) I still keep the sound effects on in RC, but some of the girls sound a little too adult. ( i do love the game still, Goose)

Actual voice acting is not so common in he first place, and often not so good. The games that does nail this is Ravager and Passion Project.

almost always turn off the music just because most games have a very limited selection for understandable reasons and it inevitably ends up repeating too much

When i play MiUnicaHija,i turn the music down a little bit.Cute music but...

I normally prefer sound, but there is a lot of bad uses of sound in adult games. Sound can add to a game if it fits what's going on. If there is only the generic free music playing that doesn't fit the mood, then I would mute it. Sex sounds are a plus for me, as long as there aren't any dudes moaning.

Music - it depends on the genre and tone of the game
Sound - heavily depends on whether its just random noise or meaningful effects
Voice - western voice actresses are akin to someone being held at gunpoint and told here read this

Abhor the intro videos of certain games esp when it near ear shattering levels.

I'm okay with music as long as it fits the atmosphere, there are creators who put out cool songs that I don't know so it's cool

The only time I have sound on is if there's actual voice acting (real or AI) or if the music is banging OR it's a great story with some thought behind the sound effects etc. I couldn't care less for generic moaning in sex scenes.

Some games use music well when it's synced to the vibe of the scene but I'm worried that I'm going to develop a pavlovian response to the same royalty free music everyone uses 😂

These days I play all my games with the sound off, whether it a adult game or a shooting game. The walls of my house is very thin so even the lowest sound people can still hear in another room.

a bit of background music is ok, but generally playing with 30% all around

I turn off the sound. I get bored easily and if I hold down control to start skipping some dialogue, the sound can quickly go nuts. I think the last time I actually kept the sound on was Snow Daze and that's because (1) english VA and (2) the sound is integral to the story.

In most games it can get really repetitive and annoying so I will turn it off, usually just in settings.
But sometimes I play a game and then a certain soundtrack just hits and it feels so good with the ambience of the background/story and that itself just elevates for me the feeling from that game to another level.

i usually don't mute games.
music choises can be a mixed bag. Same goes for sound effects.
recently i started listening to podcasts while playing. don't ask me why - i have no idea :ROFLMAO:

Almost all games I mute, though there are a few exceptions. Eternum, for instance, I keep sound on. Lessons in Love proved that it was a requirement. And sometimes I am just in a certain mood, or the song played on the main menu gets me interested in the music but those are very rare circumstances.

Plus I tend to either watch youtube or listen to spotify as I play, so I already have sounds in the background.
