Sex scene in every update or okay to skip the earlier chapters?

If they don't want to jump into the sex in 0.1 at least it gives something. Although they could do the "watch porn online" option, which would give sex without it being the MC though

Hmm, it's like reading a manga when new chapters are out, if you remember everything that happened, you can immediately go to the new content, and if not, then why not try again?

I am of the opinion that there needs to be a scene early on with someone (whoever) otherwise you don't know what you are getting later in the game.

Should a game have a sex scene starting from version 0.1? Or, should the Dev hold off until the scene feels like part of the story?

I've noticed that in games where the story is more of a slow burn, the Dev might include a throw-away sex scene in versions 0.2 or 0.3.
Sometimes it's a character that was introduced only for the sex scene and just in time for the scene. Sometimes it's a daydream about a random character you might not see again.
I understand that the Devs feel pressured to give something since (usually) people are paying for the games and don't want to pay for no payout.
If it feels forced, then it feels like it undercuts the story.
So, my question: Should the sex scenes wait until they feel part of the story even if that could take a few updates?
Or, do you not mind a sex scene that doesn't necessarily feel like part of the story itself?
I feel there should be sex scenes in every update, as long as it fit with the story and not be a wasted scene

It's understandable for a game to not have sex scenes in the early updates but they got to at least put some content to tease the audience of what is to come.

A lot of the time I think I want it in every version right off the bat, but honestly the games I find myself going back to are the ones that are a bit of a slower burn, with actual relationship building, and a bit of teasing.

I think every update should have at least one new sex scene in it. Otherwise it's perfectly skippable.

For business reasons it is pretty much a necessity, once you signal that you're moving out of the porn niche you're competing with a much wider selection of games and potentially trying the patience of the porn consuming audience.
You have to be very confident that your story alone is going to satisfy and tantilise the audience enough to bring them back for the next update if you're going to try this as a dev.

On a practical level, if an update has zero sex, it must be a pretty small update, or a significant lull in the sex content of the story. If it's the latter, that's fine, but the dev had better be confident that their writing can hold up the story on its own. I've played plenty of Japanese VN's with only light or occasional sexual content and enjoyed them, but I'm not sure I would be that into receiving one in episodic form.
And if the game has good characters and scenarios, there really shouldn't be many instances where the well of sexual content runs dry as a creator.

If a scene does not fit the story it should be left out. A hint in the description regarding that would be nice so I can skip the game until further updates. No pressure there.

Depends on the type of visual novel and the quality of the plot. If a VN has a poor plot that just exists to hold the sex scenes together, or if it has an ambitious plot that is a failure and it is only rescued by the porn, then it will suffer a lot if it starts without the porn. But if a VN has an excellent plot, then sex scenes in the beginning may not make any sense, so that they would pull down the overall quality. In these cases it would probably be best to add sex scenes completely outside the main plot, and make them fully skippable. Maybe do not even involve the main character if it would be out of character for him. For example, a character might be watching porn and we would see a full scene from what they are watching.

I'm okay with no sex at the start but atleast keep me entretained with either the story or the cgi

From a story point of view it's ok not to have a sex scene on a 0.1.
However, I like when I test a game, even in 0.1, to have one or more sex scenes to be able to test the content of the game.
Are they animated?
Are they of good quality?
How much care does the dev take with these kinds of scenes?

I don't want to waste time with a game where the dev literally botches the sex scenes.

This is a tricky one for me. I love the build up as it makes the act more interesting, but I've also been let down by poor acts after devoting long times to story. I tend to skip ahead just to see if the acts are any good before going back and bothering with the story. If it takes me too long to skip through to something I usually will move on. So I suppose not within first release, but def within second or third. at least enough to get an idea from it.

I don't like updates when they add diffrent character, that u only can talk to for now

Doesn't need a sex scene with every updated but at least something sexual like some nudity or a lot of skimpy outfits.
