Overrated Games

Any game which has/needs more than (say) 10 updates. There are some really good games out there (for example Pineapple Express) that had a good beginning, good middle, then a good end, after which the Dev moved onto another story (rather than prolonging one with no end in sight (eg Grandmas House).

DIK is a game I tried and I didn't like it. I hated the two lesbians as they basically played me.

It's been mentioned a few times so I guess I'll join the dog pile; Grandma's House.

It's a long running story with a lot of updates. Despite that, the story never goes anywhere and the author just keeps piling on more characters. At this point it's kind of a mess of relationships that just lack coherence.

Being a Dik. The free roams are incredibly over the top difficult even with a walkthrough and would be downright impossible without, at least once you get fairly in.
lol
i'm honestly curious, what type of games do you play? And for those that you played before, What would you recommend?
thanks

AVNs that don't have that shit. No free roams, no minigames, none of that shit. Or at least they can be skipped without penalty. Follow the Leader is a good one. Young Again. One Day at a Time. For Games+ One Summer in Loliwood.

Most 3D visual novels. They all have a very same-y look to them. Many of them even share the same pre-baked Daz characters.

any ongoing renpy game that has months between updates and each update is like 400+ lines of dialogue but only 1 sex scene that's 10 sentences long

Any "game" thats labeled as a "game" but really its just a novel with pics and sometimes animations, if there isnt choices or actions you need to take that impact outcomes than its not really a "game" imo so its overrated. To each their own but for it to be a game it needs some kind of game play or choice making for me.

IE "kinetic novels suck and aren't games"

Type-Moon shit in general. Where rape and abuse are treated as replacements for backstory and made into spectacle (Tsukihime, Fate).
Women's suffering is used as a disgusting scaffolding for chuninbyuu power fantasies (Tsukihime) or as a cynical author statement against idealism (Fate).
