NTR is not a dream, its a nightmare. Just say NO to NTR!

Just swinging (ba dum tss) through to say I wish there were more games focused on a male MC in a loving relationship with homewreckers throwing themselves at him. Not just generic "MC screws every woman in town", but actually focusing on the infidelity/jealousy aspect. Most games don't really want you to feel bad about cheating; I kinda want some that lean into it.

There's My Girlfriend's Friends but not a lot else I can think of (and also it updates like once a year, generously).

NETORI (NTRI) being the bad guy/ scumbag stealing the girl has its appeal. But even then, I don't really want to know her husband more than the knowledge that he's a loser and doesn't deserve her.
I mean, I really don't want to see some dude living a nightmare.

I'm kinda the opposite. If the game's kink is stealing girls, let me care about the relationship one way or the other- I want to either feel guilty that I'm doing this to a nice guy (but then do it anyway) or feel gleeful satisfaction that I'm doing it to some jerk who deserves worse.

If I'm going to play a game with NTR content it has to be netori for me to play it, but even so the guy who's going to be the victim also has to be a scumbag because if he's a nice guy I'll feel bad lol.

NTR 1 is the only one I think about when I hear NTR. The only one that has the jealousy aspect that is what most NTR fans are looking for. It's also the only one that has that specific je ne sais quoi that we don't have a clean English word for.

---

NTR 2 is your typical female protagonist corruption game. The usual tag would be cheating, corruption (MC cheats on her husband etc).

NTR 3 sounds like just voyeurism to me.

Netori is a typical male protagonist game. You have sex with numerous LIs whether they are in a relationship or not. Again, this is just the cheating tag (MC's LI is cheating on her husband etc).

Netorase is just swinging or sharing.

For these last four, we don't need a specific Japanese word for them because we have the words in English to explain what's happening.

NTR, Netorare, the act of finding out that your loved one has fallen to corruption and having sex with other men leading you to feel humiliated and jealous and betrayed and destroyed, it's a very specific thing and deserves its own term.

For the other ones just use the English words cuz they're perfectly fine.

Not much into NTR, but if I'm feeling it I usually only gravitate towards types where the MC is not ok with it (so anything not Netorase). If he's into sharing, it makes it more boring for me.

Netori feels pretty distinct from the rest, I feel like most would be ok with it. Especially if the love interest stops engaging with their partner and only engages with the MC.

I like the netori, the ntr he mentions is a no.
There are games and manhwas that Netori applies because husbands or partners treat their wives badly, so I come in to corrupt or also when he is a princess: v

So we shouldn't call it Netorare either, just infidelity, the problem isn't using Japanese words or something like that, the problem is that with their clear differences the 5 are always labeled as NTR and that's not right, it's like saying that Terraria, Minecraft, Starbound and Core Keeper are the same, when they are clearly not.

The point of calling it Netori and Netorase doesn't come from me, that's how they are called and that's how many people know them, if it were to use the words in English then we shouldn't call it NTR or Netorare either, just infidelity or deception.

There's no need to rack our brains trying to create terms in English when they already exist in Japanese, people recognize them, they make sense and we're comfortable with them. The same with Isekai, Shonen, Shoujo, etc.

The only way for me to stomach NTR is if it is a kind of punishment if you treat a girl REALLY badly, you can do EVERYTHING you want if you corrupt her right, but there's a catch, you can edge her up to 5 times, the sixth time if you refuse to have sex or edge her again then it won't show you the scene, but when you return home to her she's not horny anymore and greets you normally, if you go to her room and click the laundry basket there's an item called ''cum stained panties'' which seemed fresh meaning that since you didn't give her some she went to get some

I am 100% anti Netorare and Netorase. Weirdly, I really like Netori sort of "in theory" but I absolutely don't want the guy in the bedroom or anywhere near the girl I'm stealing from him. In fact I want him out of her life. I would even go as far as to say I would really enjoy a story beat involving unaliving an abusive husband/boyfriend or something and claim his woman for myself, showing her how a man treats her right.

I don't like to share so if it's my girl, no. If it's someone else's girl sure. As long as the someone else is out.

I wonder why NTR is such a contentious topic. As for myself, I will admit to begrudgingly enjoying it in that "I'd never do this in real life" kind of way. It's a rush of anger and jealousy and for some reason arousal. Again, not something I'd ever engage in in real life, but in fantasy... damn.

In the same boat here, I totally respect people not wanting it but I actually couldn't care less in a game, so it's strange to see this absolute aversion to NTR all the time.

Well I think in game is fine especially with the option to opt out of those content. I treat ntr it like shooting and gta style games

As an apparently uncultured pervert, I'm trying to wrap my head around definitions: If a protagonist would have a three / foursome during which members of his harem also get busy between themselves, does that count as 'netorase (sharing)'?

I mean, technically, the protagonist is sharing his love interests (with each other), I guess, but I would think that it's hardly 'true' netorase because no one is shared outside the relationship, right?

I'm interested both in the viewpoint of netorase enjoyers - if you'd play a game with the netorase tag, would you be disappointed that it's just a harem relationship? - and netorase haters - if you'd play a game without the netorase tag, would you hate it if you encountered a threesome with the protagonist railing LI1 while LI1 kisses / otherwise interacts with LI2?

Mainly asking because I find it difficult to write moresomes where the protagonist is the only one interacting with the LIs - it always feels like someone is left out (which, tbh, makes me think that IRL surely must also be a problem). Someone added the netorase tag to my game, but I'm kinda afraid of disappointing true netorase connaiseurs lol.
