Respect the author's idea and liking the idea are two diferent things, is the authors right to write whatever they think fits the story they want to tell, but is so as well the audience right to decide if the agree with that or not.

That also avoids the statement regarding authors that specifically tell they will not include it only to include it later anyways. The exit to that I can think of is as Deaufosse metion, and is when there are diference in concept between the author and the audience but that only leaves the need off clear tagging to avoid that kind of discussions.

Yes, indeed, they are different. Respecting, in this case, means try not to change, which is sadly what some devs experience: pressure from the audience because they want to see this or the don't want to see that.
If I ever met Tarantino at a party, I don't think I'd be telling him what to change about his movies.
As for liking, every one has their preferences. There's no one audience, there are many individuals. Sure, you can group people, but as Deaufosse was saying, some people consider NTR even if it's just mentioned. On the other side of the spectrum, we'd have people who think it's only NTR if a LI cheats on the MC "on camera" and only if the LI has stopped intimacy with the MC.
Many definitions, many preferences. It's impossible to cater to them all.

As a person with a high level of empathy, the kind of guy that feels for characters and what happens to them, I hate NTR. I avoid games that are unavoidable but what I hate the most are devs that use every excuse in the book to try smear the lines, "its not NTR because *insert excuse here" these guys will never get any support from me and I will point it out every time I see it, this is a dev trying to pull the wool over my eyes, fuck those guys. Many times I have been told "its just a game, these are just pixels whats the problem" these people dont seem to understand that seeing someone be betrayed, cheated on, used and abused is just not fun for many. When I watch a movie or read a good book I feel sad for the family's loss, I feel joy for the underdog taking the W, I also feel the pain of a loved one treating someone like shit and betraying them, this is not enjoyable so I dont play. When the mc is onboard with it and he does not care about sharing his girls or about his girls in general I still do, so it changes nothing.

I also dislike the cam girls, onlyfans, prostitute li's, unavoidable lesbian li's,(sometimes I am fine with it, side girls etc other times I hate it like when its my favorite LI or someone really close to mc) unavoidable scene's(sure sometimes I would have picked the option anyway but being forced into a li I dont like can ruin a VN for me). I am also not a fan of devs that try to tell me what I should like or not through mc's thoughts let me decide who I find attractive or what I enjoy.

If we, as a society, would truly understand and respect what "To each their own" means, things would go a lot better.
There is nothing inherently wrong about being promiscuous, although to me, there is something wrong about breaking an exclusivity commitment (breaking trust).
We must understand and accept that some people want to have a monogamous relationship, while others do not, the same way that some people want kids and some do not.

Nothing inherently wrong about being promiscuous is in theory correct, however theory and the factual statistics and reality of what is going on are different things.

And you're complaining about a game adding NTR 5 updates later? Do you know how much time and creativity went into those five updates? You're writing off months of someone's work all because of one scene. Again, do you know how constraining that is as a creator?

It is the simple fact that it is there... WE don't want to see it PERIOD... state it if it is there or if you are gonna add it later as a future tag ..
The people that are extreme in what is and what is not NTR are gonna complain either way. There is no way around that if you write ntr scenes .. So if you add some,,, EXPLAIN IT.. Say what kind it is cause there is 2 much that falls under NTR.

But to continue within this path, if a lab reports that 30% of their tests report a negative (no relation) result, it makes me think of the reasons behind someone getting tested. And one of the main reasons I can think of, is someone claiming I am the father of X and I don't think I am. I doubt people do otherwise, it's not like I'm sitting here commenting in lewdcorner and all of a sudden I think: hmmmm... maybe my dad isn't my dad, better go for a paternity test.

What I'm trying to say is that if everybody got tested systematically and there's a great percentage of negatives, that could mean something. But people get tested because their paternity is being challenged, not because everything is normal and why not do it.

Same way would happen if you read statistics of labs who test STDs. Let's imagine 80% positives. OMG we live in a world of STDs! Promiscuity and loose people are to blame! Well no, take it easy... people who *think* they might have something are the main individuals who get tested, probably looked up the symptoms they are having and decided to get tested. Guess what, they probably do have an STD.

Porn is also a great way to watch (and to a lesser extent, experience) things that you wouldn't do (or can't do) in real life.
