"Harry sprinted through the dark, echoing corridors of Hogwarts, his wand raised high and his heart pounding in his chest. Spells whizzed past him, narrowly missing his head, as he dodged and weaved through the chaos. He could hear the sinister laughter of Death Eaters behind him, closing in. Bursting through a set of double doors, he found himself in the courtyard, where the full moon cast an eerie glow over the stone walls. Harry skidded to a halt, his eyes widening as he saw a massive shadow looming over him. Bracing for an attack, he raised his wand, only to pause as he realized the shadow belonged to a scruffy, brown dog. This is exactly what I think.
Imagine reading a book, and half way through it reading about how the protagonist kissed a dog and saying "that does it" while closing the book and leaving it foreverOne must respect the author's idea because it's their story.
The dog wagged its tail, looking up at Harry with big, hopeful eyes. Without thinking, Harry crouched down, his fingers scratching behind the dog’s ears, feeling the tension in his shoulders melt away as the dog leaned into his touch, oblivious to the battle raging around them. They kissed, the dog's floppy tongue exploring the roof of Harry's mouth. He was shocked at first, by the intimacy of the act, thinking, 'This is snogging. I'm snogging a dog!' then the sensations took hold, and he was lost in the passion.
Harry pulled back and wiped off his mouth and chin, "God, I hope you're an Animagus. Not some regular mutt."
Suddenly, a statue of a great Goblin Wars general exploded. The dog shot off, the moment lost. Harry scrabbled to his feet and ran on, narrowly avoiding the killing curse flying over his shoulder."
