If discord requires you to prove your age will you stop using it?

It is through the phone app you scan it like how some bank app's scan a check for deposit but some place overseas you can just link a govt account.

I don't use a phone for internet or anything like that.

The real question isn't whether I'm leaving Discord, but if or where the communities I follow will. A few I'm in are already looking for alternatives. I don't use Discord for porn, either, but requiring something worldwide that's only a law in a couple of countries is too far. I am not trusting a company that just had a data breach, losing 70k users' information, with my government ID or my biometrics. And you're insane if you will.

Already clicked 'leave server' on many many servers I was on for various adult games... discord is now back to a small hand full of servers for various things, but I'll probably leave them soon enough as well.

Still have it. Because if the cell towers are out (or it's at 0 power) and 911 is needed...
I only use my cell phone as a phone and almost always only for long distance.

Due to the complete uselessness, I do not use Discord. I installed it three or four years ago, registered, but quickly realized that I had nothing to do there. After that, I deleted it as unnecessary.

Outside of work and family/IRL friends I never used discord, so the NSFW rule wouldn't affect me anyway.
I disliked the whole non-private thing of discord since the beginning, everybody knows who you are, even if you change your server specific nickname. It's kinda funny how only now everybody acts so shocked that privacy is in danger.

I hope we go back to normal websites now, where I don't need a fucking overlord account to access half of the shit on the internet.

This will probably only cause people to not declare their servers as NSFW.
Which is pretty much the opposite of "protecting minors".

Also, I assume this is to not get banned in countries that require a proper age-check, like the UK.

On other sites that offer me something that is important to me or seems important, yes, definitely,
I don't support any nonsense that someone comes up with just because they demand me to do so.

I am my own master and owe nothing to anyone.
And certainly not my private data or information about me.

The situation is different for government agencies and institutions, of course, but who can claim to be truly free?
