discussion Discord WTF? Just to tell about my experience

I carefully read through the entire discussion. I came to the conclusion that Discord being blocked in my country is actually a very good thing. At one point, I considered registering via VPN, but what is outlined in this discussion made me reconsider that decision. It's better to stay away from Discord.

Yep, happened to me as well. I appealed and they denied. I didn't ever really visit the Discord server. I only got on Discord to listen to another server's live stream. I completely deleted my account there. I don't need their BS. The Live stream show has a YT now anyway.

About 10 days ago my discord profile got a yellow card because a discord server violated community guidelines and the violation will have effect for 2 years (i'm not the only one in this situation).

I asked to discord team to review my punishment, explaining i didn't write anything on the server, i didn't download anything, i didn't upload anything and i also didn't pay using the bot (all this is the truth).

Today they answered me:
We confirmed that your content violated our rules. Following your request, we reviewed your content and confirmed that it violates our Community Guidelines. The violation will continue to effect your account until it expires.

My content?

all it takes is one bad actor to post something that breaks the TOS on a discord server you are apart of and you will be treated as if you are the one who did it. in some cases you will lose your account all together.

I think it's far to easy to join a server that gets flagged for something inappropriate and then everyone in the server is punished, regardless of if you actually even engaged with anything there. Best strategy is to have a throw away account for lewd servers and be prepared to create a new one if it gets flagged. I don't like it, but that might be the only way to do it.
