How does everyone keep track of all the games you've played?

I stored my games in Excel with their version number, if 2-3 new versions come out, then they are brought up again.

When I try out a game, I make sure to index it in different notepads depending on if I have no interest in the game, a "meh" category, and finally an active update one.

I always make sure that I include the latest version, where I found it, and maybe some notes to help me remember what it was about.

What about everyone else? What do you all do, if anything?
That's my secret Captain. I don't. *tears off shirt*

If I have any interest in a game thread, I just press the watch button and keep it in my threads. If I ever get the feeling that I'm looking for something specific that I can't quite recall, I search through those. I rarely need to search, though. If a game's good enough that I've played it more than once it tends to stick with me, name and all.

The easiest thing would be if you could set the latest updates to not show threads you've gone in and ignored.

To answer the thread topic I just have a folder with game folders in it, I've never bothered trying to categorize them other than making folders to put together games with multiple chapters/side games and a folder for a dev if I have a bunch of games from that dev.
Same. I just sort by "Date created"

With texts on notepads, like this. I usually remember what's in 90% of those, and if not then looking at it some helps jog my memory. After that I watch out for latest updates.

Other sites do a better job with their latest updates (No offence Kevinsky) and it's easier to watch/follow threads there so games you've played get marked in the update page every release.

Never bother really just check the updated game list on a few sites. I also follow games threads to watch for updates.

Like the Neanderthal that I am, I rely on long-term memory. I memorize titles, pictures, plot and developer. And then I look for new updates.

I don't, and it's a problem. I've downloaded the same game more than once on a few occasions, started to play it and thought, fuck, I've done this already. The main issue isn't so much what games I have or have not, although that is a problem too, but it's all these games that get released unfinished, and billions of updates, I lose track of what was the last version I played.

Unfinished games I like I keep then check regularly for updates.
Games I don't like go on 'the list' 🙃
That way I don't download them again.

Finished games go on a different list so I can remember if I enjoyed them 🙂

Notepad (name + last version played), site "Watched Threads", compressed archive of saves

I just remember the names. If it's a renpy game and I don't remember if I've played it or not, I check if there's a save on AppData/Roaming/RenPy, but it almost never happens

If I like a game, I remember it. If I don't, it deserved to be forgotten.

considering ive only played a small handful, easy to keep track. Having trouble finding ones that seem interesting to me

Tree ring method except it's eye rings for the late nights spent on the really long VN's.

I still have a semi-permanent eye ring from Dating my Daughter lol.

I made an Excel list and track the games I play. But meanwhile I have more fun
developing the Excel list than playing the games

That's some serious organizing! My bedroom isn't even that clean! I love it... I'll be downloading games and not realize until halfway through that I've played them before!
