Do you like collecting things in the game or just ignore it?

Personally, I didn't care at first, but when I played some games with secret/true endings that require you to find hundreds of things around the map, I started to despise them.

Same I would say, I don't care for them except if they are 'mandatory' like the example you gave. If they don't unlock anything special most of the time I just ignore them. Very rarely I get hooked enough to actually go out of my to collect them.

I dislike them, but I always end up going for all of them anyways, so I guess I don't hate them too much.

Don't care for collectathons or grinding of any kind.

I collect all I can during the first playthrough. After that I usually use an unlocker for getting the rest I missed.

I dislike them.
The only way I'd be interested in them is if they prove or lead to alternate endings / scenes in which case I think they are pretty good since some people dont like certain fetishes and those scenes can be non canon.
Collecting for pictures or finding "materials" for a quest is a pain.

They're fine when the reward is just a bunch of non-canon gallery renders, but not a fan if story-related events or paths are locked behind finding them.

ehh played a few games where there were some but it didn't really affect the game or the story so best to just leave it out for me. Use the time to get the animation down or more of them :)

If they grant some benefit like upgrade points so they're an option to grind ahead of the level you'd be at through normal progression, then I like them.

I can't remember when collectables was actually ever done well. They always just fuck up the pace of a game and make you do really stupid stuff that take you out of the immersion of the game. Oh let me walk all around the edge of this screen to make sure I didn't miss any hidden doors for a few minutes.... TERRIBLE

sure its a plus
love me some achievements for a nice print screen of my save

It is fun when they are just some bonus content. like extra pictures or something.
If I have to click every pixel on my screen to find something in order to progress the story I find it extremely annoying.

Exactly the same for me.
