I was thinking, Is there a voting, pool or something like that targeting lewd games like The Games Awards? Could be interesting to see the games competing on popular vote for some topics, like best soundtrack, best art, best lewd scene, best story arc, etc. Also this could be a way to find some hidden gems among the already popular games

I think that even if it had, it would be really hard to judge. I usually dont like games on honey select, so i would vote for anything that is not that. Which i find kinda unfair

Maybe we have Mutiple section, like best Honey select and Bets Daz Model, so on.

The problem with multiple options is how to LIMIT the number. I mean to start you have 5 main engines used (RNPY, RPGM, HTML, Unity, and Unreal Engine) plus a bunch of others. Then as mentioned you add the different modeling systems, main tags, minor tags, and setting (sci-fi, Fantasy, Dystopian, School setting, etc.). Of course, you would probably also need to divide all of those combinations again to be team or solo Developer projects. Even just limiting the combinations to the engine used and Modeling program would create a rather long list.

The method of judging (open to all or some selected judges) would have its own issues as well.

Honestly, I don't know that something like that would be much help or workable. Heck, with the number of games that get abandoned, how do you ensure that a selection goes beyond a DEMO (or 1-3 updates).

At this point the only way to reward a game and its developer(s) is to support the on SS, Itch, Patreon, or other sites and thank them here and elsewhere.

Just a thought

I agree, Many different categories would turn a simple question, confusing and pointless.

Yep, I hate anything RPGmaker or HTML or using Koikatsu. Also, anything with cartoony graphics. Then there are tags, etc that some people love and other people hate.

Those are some good problems but a bigger problem in my opinion would be finished vs unfinished.
How do you differentiate between those, are big games that most people love gonna win every time because they had some updates that year?
should only the updates of that year count?
what about games that are not marked abandoned or on-hold but have not had updates in years.

Then they should be marked. IIRC on fuck95 no updates in a year regardless of posts on Patreon, etc get marked abandoned (because of the fucktards who would keep posting renders, wallpapers, etc without actually working on the game.)

BaDIK sucks because of the free roams. Anything slow burn sucks because blueballing sucks.

I don't see this working out for one main reason,
most games that are put up in these award shows are full release games. Most porn games are released as in progress and differ greatly in amount of content as well as incomplete story lines.
It's possible to make a game that starts out great but then falls onto it's face once it gets going. Awarding a game one year cause it starts out great yet scorn it the next cause it screwed up what happened since is gonna make a bigger mess of things.
Let's look at WVM for example, it started out amazing and promised to be so much more and for 2 years it could take top spot if not runner up. Then things changed such as who is not going to be a love interest which turned people off and then the story started to fall apart.

If we limit it to complete games than long development games that were released as in progress are likely not gonna win cause by time they are complete people no longer have the same zeal for them or might be over them.

I don't want to be a downer as I do think there are dev's who have been overshadowed and others who deserve recognition should be given it. I just don't see a way it can be done in a just way.

It should not be split in art or engine.
It should only be split in mc gender (otherwise female protagonist games would never make it in any ranking).
A mandatory criterion should be the "completed" tag.

It's most simple than complicated. Someone is putting too many problem in my opinion.
Just divide into two macro categories: "Completed" and "New best promise",
then, could be awarded respectively: "Best Story", "Best Graphic", "Best Male MC" and "Best Femal MC", "Best Animation", "Best Soundtrack & BCSound", and finally "Best Gameplay".
A list of games for each macro is created by the administrators,
Site members vote with a rating from 1 to 5 for every game, for every sub categories;
The average of the vote establishes the winners of the sub categories;
At the end the overall average score of each game draws up the final ranking in the two macro categories, for "Best Game of the Year" and "Best Promise of the Year".
It's easier said than done.

Best ongoing game category too.

Best ongoing game category too.
I think it's too generic and broad as a category.
This is why i have mentioned "New Best Promise", it's related to the current year.
There is a ton of "game on going" out there...! :eek:
