The problem with multiple options is how to LIMIT the number. I mean to start you have 5 main engines used (RNPY, RPGM, HTML, Unity, and Unreal Engine) plus a bunch of others. Then as mentioned you add the different modeling systems, main tags, minor tags, and setting (sci-fi, Fantasy, Dystopian, School setting, etc.). Of course, you would probably also need to divide all of those combinations again to be team or solo Developer projects. Even just limiting the combinations to the engine used and Modeling program would create a rather long list.
The method of judging (open to all or some selected judges) would have its own issues as well.
Honestly, I don't know that something like that would be much help or workable. Heck, with the number of games that get abandoned, how do you ensure that a selection goes beyond a DEMO (or 1-3 updates).
At this point the only way to reward a game and its developer(s) is to support the on SS, Itch, Patreon, or other sites and thank them here and elsewhere.
