Hello fellow players, are you more of the concentrated readers who want to understand the story? Is that important to you or do you always skip to the "exciting" parts without understanding the context?
( i use Google Translator =D )
Depends on the game. Sometimes the story is good and sometimes it's cringe. If I don't like the narrative I move on to the good oaets

It depends on how well the story is or how i am feeling that day.

It really just depends on the game I find writing in too much small talk over and over again rather annoying.

i mean like it depend if it a good story or not

I would generally read everything but if the game's scenes are great and the writing sucks I'm going to start skimming.

Like most have said, it depends on the game.

i'll start with reading. but if it get's boring the skip button is there for a reason....

If I'm only there for the smut, ill skip to the scenes. But if the plot is enjoyable, then it earns a full read from me!

Ohh, interesting question! I generally try to give all VNs a shot when it comes to reading, but I often notice this tendency for them to go a bit too far and that usually results in a less engaging story and interest dropping by extension. DMD was one example, loooooots of text but it mostly fit the narrative well. Still a bit too much in my opinion.

And most recently, it's was the Single Again. At first, the slow-paced storytelling and the amount of text is justified. I'd argue it even piqued my interest. But as you play it, you start to notice just how much the dev. started "drifting". In the last update alone, MC would say basically the same thing in 10 different ways, and then he'd repeat it 10 times. And that's just the latest update lol.

If I took a shot for each repetition, I reckon Jack Daniels would run out of barrels long before the game is finished. So I started skipping parts of it, but I do go back if I'm genuinely interested to know more. The only other time I skip text would be: a) If the story is really poorly written but the visuals are nice, and b) When I'm really tired.

For me it depends on the plot and how much it pulls me in. if it do i read every word and if it doesn't i might read it every so often or just try and skip until the good parts.

I'm a full reader.

If I don't enjoy the story, I'll just won't play it, as the scenes will simply feel hollow. At that point, it's better to just go on the internet and look at some pictures instead. A good story elevates the character, and get me more in the mood, be it games or comics.

I guess the only types of dialogues I skip are the ones with no substance, mostly when it comes to moans, as often they feel cringy, and overused, more than enjoyable.

personally im a reader. but it depends on the game

The reader. If the plot is weak or the story could not captivate, I delete such visual novels without the slightest regret.

Absolutely depends on the game. I'll skim most of them. I'll fully read it the characters or the story is particularly interesting.

The visuals have to be extremely good (and the writing very boring) for me to completely skip through. It's normally just ignore a game rather than skip through it.

Four VNs that is. I've skipped the story a lot more in more action/adventure oriented games

I want to read and understand the story, but I can't because English is not my first language.

For the most part I read. There have been times that I disliked one character so I skip their scenes.

Depends on the game. Sometimes Im skipping, but still read some fractions of the story and if its iteresting enough i reset the game. But mostly its basically all the same in every game. Or its just too much and not iteresting enough.

I guess I'm technically a skipper, however I tend to be able to skim read and know whats going on so its kind of a mix of both. I only slow down if the story is really good.

depend on the game but most time iam reading.

depends on my mood but most of the time i skim read so i still know whats going on
