Definitely depends on the genre and situation. I tend to focus more on the silly stuff rather than deep storylines.

What i tend to do is when i see a game i like i make 2 saves. One to play the game and not skip it to read the story. And the other to skip everything and use it as a gallery. If its a type of game where the scenes are one time only and no gallery ill make a bunch a saves and label them! But most of the time i play the game and read the story!

The better it's written and the more I like the story and the characters the less I skip but there are games that feel like I already played them a hundred times, in those I tend to skip a lot.

Depends of how dialogues are written, if they are ubisoft or bethesda-like written then yeah its a skip to sex scene..

Depends on writing quality honestly.

depends on how interesting the story is at the beginning

First skipper if it is worst read

Both. The better the story the less I skip.

Same as everyone else. If the story draws you in: read. If it sucks, I'm there for the pictures ... and maybe animations.

Depending a little on the kink. As was said before, corruption stories don't work without having character development. And that won't work without reading text.

If it's a stort heavy game I read almost everything and usually only skip the sex scenes.

If the story of boring or sex-focussed, ai usually skip the story and only watch the sex scenes.

When first starting a new game I always skip over everything just to see if there even is any action. Then, if the action looks appealing I go back and start over to enjoy the story.

Mostly I prefer to read, it's the whole point of a visual novel. If you don't want to read you'd better go to Pornhub.

I usually begin by reading everything. Some games reward you with genuinely funny parts if you keep reading. Also an interesting plot can enhance the fap sometimes. Other games however, it starts to feel very drawn out and I end up skipping most everything from that point on. Detail and exposition is ok, but at some point it tends to feel like the update was simply padded with tons of pointless dialogue. It helps if there isn't 2.5 hrs of reading in between each scene.

I always read, if the story/immersion doesn't get me then i just dont continue the game.

really depends on how much reading and when. If its a lot and I'm trying to get back to a character then I skip a lot.

same as a lot of others i think

if writing seems good i read it

otherwise just there for renderings and anims

but the quality of writing gotta be pretty good because i am not made of spare time

Depends. But, honestly, it's very common that I start skipping when I return to a game after some time and never really engage with the story again.

What's the point of a novel if your not going to read it? The devs put a lot of time and effort into coming up with a plot/story that add context to why and how you lead up to certain things happening and skipping through just to get to the spicy scenes, you might as well just go to the hub.
