Its like the AAA games industry remaking/remastering their games just to only make them worse than the originals..

The thing with AAA games is that they do the remastering after the original is done. So even if they fuck up the remaster you can still go back to the old one and enjoy it. In this case we never even got to see the mc have sex with the daughters, who are the main reason why people were playing.

Besides the devs that just deleted all their stuff and disappeared, ric0h was probably the one that freaked out the most. At some point he even changed the name of the game. But yea in his case he was legitimately concerned that he could go to jail because of the content of his game. Now that he actually knows what he can and can't have in game, he just had to remove content with one of the girls, but she was behind a paywall anyway and was just a side character. The legality of the content here doesn't seem to be the reason for the changes. Like I said in other comments the girls, especially lily and angel still look super young. He probably just wanted them to look a little older in hopes that he can get his game on cuck95. I don't see any other reason for him to destroy all of his progress and piss off the fans.

If that's the case why hasn't he done it yet? This update came out like 3 days ago. Imo I think the branching with one path being Lily fully leaving the family behind and another being that she goes with them got too complex to develop for so the dev basically just restarted development to simplify the game.

The possibility (not even a guarantee, which shows how dumb of an idea this is) of getting on 95 and milking his subs are probably bonuses.

I left their discord so I don't know if he changed the plans but I remember him saying that the story will be pretty much the same, the girls will just be older. I remember talking to him about how the whole thing with the dance teacher would make lily look retarded if he didn't change her story a little bit since in my opinion the main reason why the dance teacher was able to corrupt her so quickly was because she was very young and didn't understand fully what was happening.
So yea I don't think he did it to simplify the story, I agree with you that the branching paths make things overcomplicated. The updates for this game aren't that big and they take a while to come out so it just makes things even worse.
I think the best solution would be to kind of do what the dev of power vacuum does. All the ntr stuff is in the bad endings. That way you can still add ntr content every update but you don't have to worry about two massive branching paths.
At the end of the day it's his game so if he fucks things up he is the one that loses the most, but the way things are going, it is kind of hard to have hope for this game.

I mean it really depends on if he is now able to post the game on other forums. If he is, then it actually can make the game grow a lot since most people on cuck95 for example, probably don't even know this game exists. The problem is that the girls, especially lily and angel, still look very young and we all know that cuck95 is not the most consistent forum when it comes to applying their rules. So there is a very big chance that they will still reject the game and in that case he just wasted all this time removing the main point of attraction, for nothing.

The difference is that the things that are posted here are not real and your profile picture was of a real girl that appeared underage. There is a big difference there.

I did not test this game yet but the pictures in this thread of the new characters seem to make the MC look like the underage character. It is still very strange to see all the legal differences between the continents, concerning underage looking virtual characters or even drawings and what it has done for the development of this game. The western world seems to become more conservative, prude and restrictive every year. In some countries any drawing of a naked childlike characters will fall under anti-child pornography laws. While in other countries they fall under art or freedom of expression or even speech with no legal consequences for the artists.

A few years back I visited a comic fair in Japan, there were even some lol-magazine publishers there, one country over in Australia these are now totally illegal. It makes me wonder why all these more restrictive laws? Maybe because some people not seem to understand the difference between fantasy and reality. Or maybe because some people will claim the technology nowadays make these games look more or too real or claim they become a gateway for people to start abusing children IRL.

In my opinion people who abuse kids are sick and would do it even without these fantasy VN games. Also by making these games fall under such laws will only cause a lot of pressure on the legal system of a country. While real abusers might be missed or not focussed on because it is much easier for law enforcement to find a loli game developer who has a public patreon or other fundraising page and on people who play their games. Than finding real abusers on the dark underwebs, if both fall under the same law, real and fantasy the statistics will say they are doing a good job either way!

Damn didn't know Shiny Devon was a woman, interesting tidbit. But yea devs bowing under pressure of any kind always sucks, IMO. It rarely ends up with the product being better. Not talking about substantive/technical critique, of course. That's always good.
