Does anyone usually skip parts of visual novels? If so, what parts?

I'm speaking in a more general sense, not just visual novels that you really enjoyed or really hated.
I dont skip anything specific. It doesnt matter what the content is, if its a part of the story im going to experience it. I only really skip when the story lulls too much or I otherwise find myself bored or not in a reading mood. But even then, its nothing specific. More like a jump to a more interesting part of the story. But I usually only do that on a second or more playthrough.

"Raises hand," Um,... yeah, so why go to all the trouble to download (even purchase) and visual NOVEL, and then skip the dialog?

If actually playing the game and reading the dialog is too much, wouldn't it be easier to just watch porn?

Maybe, some of the VN images are more unique or even superior to normal porn. If so, here is a link to an rpa unpacker. for those who just want the images, use this to unpack the image.rpa files and presto! no more reading or wasting time on game mechanics needed:

I almost always skip the "dirty talk" during sex scenes. For some reason I find them cringe as fuck.

at a certain point if there's tons of dialogue and nothing going on i'll start skipping. i like story, but a lot of dialogue can be banal filler that contributes next to nothing. like, it's not like i'll skip dialogue and then be all like ohmygod what's happening the intricate plotting of this masterpiece has totally lost me

I tend to skip the political parts or the parts where they try to justify the fetishes they have included. Like bitch I'm a degenerate and you're a degenerate but your arguments are stupid and never would work in a normal society. Not every fetish should be mainstream and we both should be judged for having them.

For Japanese VNs I always skip the part when they talk about food, what is there for dinner, who is cooking, how good it tastes etc. Idk why but I find so ridiculously boring.

I usually skip a lot of part if story and scenes are so generic

Games with huge plot dumps or broken English usually get a quick fast forward

If you're skipping the story, it means either your patience is less than your horniness, or the story is just not good enough to be worth reading. A prime example for me is
'The Guardian', the story for me is too deep and not interesting, but the characters and the scenes are good.

This exactly. If the story is good enough to pull me in, I'll read it. If not....click past. Sadly, too many porn games dont bother with decent writing, but still feel the need to put in walls of text. Speaking from experience, if you write a good story, people will generally read all of it, even the non-sex scenes.

If the story is meh, I skip narration parts, but only if the visuals are good, else I skip the game

Yup, if the game is engaging enough, I'm usually patient enough to read everything.

Of course, if anything repeats through a variation on a decision then it's an auto-skip.

Ya if I start to skip if the story and writing doesn't get me at the start its a good sign I'm not gonna like the game. the game needs to catch me in the start with a interesting story in a interesting way. something that really dips you in to the vibe and world. i will skip if its a sort of light and soft start that also just introduces like 80 characters at once.
