Do you think hand holding in games is ruining the games we play ?

Deliberate delaying of the game, for example "treasure od nadia" or anything fron this developer. A game with an interesting plot, good drawing and animation, but useless wandering around the locations is annoying

No. Who wants adult games to be difficult?

I'd rather have hand holding then have a game take hours and nothing happens because you can't figure it out.

I think it's important when a game gives you a hand from time to time, but when it holds your hand all the way through?, that's just boring, but if you're just playing to relax and you don't want a challenge, then it's more than OK if you just want to chill and enjoy 👌

a little hand holding is never a bad thing imo but too mach can definitely ruin a game. an example of to much is when a companion npc is shouting out puzzle solutions or what you need to do to beat an enemy or boss.

there are times where i find handholding absolutely infuriating (when it is done in the extreme)

One of the reasons I couldn't finish Pokémon X. I had played and beaten every single Pokémon game, since Red and Blue, yet, dropped the entire series since X/Y. I don't understand why it's not a priority to teach trough design, instead of forcing the player to make a tutorial. That just kills creativity. Is literally when you get homework as a kid, you complete, but, it's a different way than the teacher wanted you to, so you are failed, that's just bs.

Depends on the particular game. In some cases it is an unnecessary multiplication of entities, in others it is a useful feature. There are games, such as Ring of Lust, that are just not passable if you rely on intuition. True, this is mostly due to the developers' crookedness.

in normal games i don't like handholding. some pointer here and there so you don't get stuck and have to google is fine. but i prefer to figure shit out my self.
in adult games i don't mind hand holding, objective is a little "different" there.

If you're talking about non adult games, definitely no. Gave up on them long ago. Can never get past the 1st level, sometimes the tutorial. I grew up wit games where there was 1 joystick (and no directional buttons, etc) and ONE button. Or the RPGs where combat was all text.

Hand holding? Absolutely disgusting and immoral behavior.

Sometimes lots of map markers and indicators are too much imo but i dont mind some painted walls indicating we can climb or something what do you guys think ?

I thought you meant

a pixelated image of a person 's torso with a bird flying overhead

I was ready to declare heresy.

How about.. we just don't.. have STUPID game mechanics that are only there to artificially increase the play time as opposed to being fun/meaningful.

I dislike stumbling around aimlessly.

Morrowind is a good example for a game that doesn't need handholding, because the devs went the extra mile to give the players the needed info in various ways. Cyberpunk 2077 is a good compromise during missions as the map markers are only as exact as the character would know.

Be better if it was something you had to click (like hints on or such at the start or a "help" button.)

I am a “lazy” gamer. If the game is in any way, deliberately difficult, I delete it. I hate games that are overly difficult, not because of the difficulty but because of how they get in the way of me just enjoying the game. I feel every game should have a “god” mode where you can’t die. If I die 20 times because I can’t figure out how to beat a boss, solve a puzzle or react to some stupid “quick time” button combination, I delete the game. The reason I play many of the games is for the story, not the stupid difficulty, number of people I kill or all of the stupid “achievements” that mean absolutely nothing to me.
