discussion Do you prefer playing a VN with a Walkthrough Mod. Why/why not?

Personally I'd prefer it for games that have diverse/many branching paths or consequences to my choices that I'd rather not get.

It depends if I didn't get any scene or good ending in my first play through, if not then I'm using a guide

I do always to save some time, sometimes I forget what the characters talking about and all of the sudden there's three choices.

I play a lot of VNs so it feels like a waste of time to play w/o WT mod.
If you don't play many games I thinks it's better to play without WT since you'll have better immersion

No, I don't like mods. They make VN turn into a boring KN, devoid of even the slightest signs of gameplay. And I immediately put KNs on my ignore list.

The grind in visual novels is replaying the game multiple times in a row to find the choices needed to get the route you want.
As a kid I would play Japanese VNs without guides but really walk through mods is simply skipping what would just be grinding in other games and all you are doing is saving time.

Depends. Majority of AVNs choices are just glorified yes or no. But those with splitting paths i would use wt if its available if not then i'd pick my prefered route, follow it till the end and move on.

If it has a Walkthrough Mod then always. I dont wanna miss something and i dont see myself playing those games a secend time

If it's something that I've played before and/or it has multiple branching paths for endings etc, then I'd definitively use one. It also depends on how well made the game is and if it's easy to figure out what choices lead to which consequences.

I use one if available so I dont miss content and if there are multiple choices, in a replay you can just go the other route.

Yes, because if the gameplay is 'guess what the dev thinks is the best answer', then it would be better as a KN

I prefer using walk through mods to get the the route I want, also some games can be very obscure with the affect of your choices and with the amount of games around Its very rare that i replay a game for another route.

Yes because 99 percent of these 'games' aren't worth the time investment to find the content you want.

I prefer with WT, but some don't need one, cause it's "easy" to know what to pick..

Yes, I use WT mods when available. Even better if the dev has the WT included by default.

Definitely prefer an ingame walk-through.

If not ingame then I look for a walk-through elsewhere.

well after playing much japanese games I have a habbit of saving on every choice to be able to always see the result
