Do you prefer games with multiple choices that affect the story or a linear story where choices don't affect anything?

I likeit when you hawe coices that change the storie and where it is going. Ifit dos not cahge anny ting and you more or les end up at the same place. Then i would perfer the game just to be liniar and fokused on one good story/experience.

I like having a bit more complexity and choice to it....hell, even just the illusion of choice is good enough sometimes to scratch the itch.

It really doesn't matter as long as the story is good. Fiery Scion doesn't have choices but it's really good all the same.

I want choices. During a game I want to have the idea that I'm in charge.

im not just want the choises to affect the story by a little i want the choises can produce basicly a completly different story. kinetic novels often let me stop caring. if they have choises that wont do anything i often even drop the game.

i think the kinetic novel i liked the most was doki doki literatur club.

If the story is really good, I don't mind a linear game. However, I prefer games with meaningful choices and open paths, as it provides replayability, and I can take different approaches depending on my mood.

I like both. I get invested in choices matter more so than the linear route. As long as the story and characters are good

Sometimes I prefer a linear story where choices don't affect anything, and sometimes the opposite.

What grinds my gears is when choices lock out content and you bee to reload a previous save.
I agree 100% especially when the choice affects way later in the game.

I like choices, but I hate being locked out of certain paths cause of those same choices, unless its properly specified so you know to at least save.

Either is fine as long as the graphics and animations are good. I do enjoy a Dark path option

Choices are fine as long as they represent a realistic outcome or path. The idea that a previous choice that led to something meaningful is suddenly null and void because the developer is lazy and decided suddenly the subsequent choices don't matter is enough to piss off the Pope.

Linear stories. I don't like having to replay games again and again just to see all the content.

Multiple but only when I know what the outcome of the choice is going to be. The ones I really hate are "touch her?" "Yes" then "Game Over, Mom kicked you out!" Main menu... Like noooo FFS! Lol

honestly doesnt matter .. deez days story telling has gone to the knackers
