I will wait if it's regular updates. But if it's long then ill play

i sometimes forget the game even exists after i play it once.

Some games I really like every update but most I will wait a few updates before playing each time.

It depends on how much content the dev usually puts out with each update.

There are only few games that i sometimes think about. Usually i just go throu the updates every few week and find out games i would like to play (usually dont remember if i played them or not before). Ironically, i dont play every update of games i remember, because i remember the old content, so most of the walkthrou wouldnt be "new" for me

I wait to see if the dev is consistent, otherwise i don't risk getting attached to a game that will likely get dropped before the fifth update

the vast majority of games I wait to release some, it's just the bigger games that take a long time to release an update that I don't wait for

I've been following some games and realized that I'm not enjoying them as much as when I played them for the first time. and one of the reasons is that the amount of content in an update is not enough to keep me engaged, so I was curious to know how the "community" plays and if any of you have the same problem.
Honestly I never check how much of the game has been released so I just discover if there is a lot of content or not

I usually play games once and then don't look at them for a long time.

If it's a game I'm keeping up with I will play each update, but if they take too long I'll sometimes forget to check for updates and will only remember months later.

Over time I have transitioned more towards waiting till there is more content. It has become a rarity, I think, that updates drop a lot of content, if there indeed ever was a time when that was commonplace..

It all depends on the developer. If updates appear every two weeks or once a month, then there is no point in replaying updates for 2-5 minutes of gameplay. If it happens every 3-4 months, then yes, it's worth taking a closer look at these updates.

This really depends on the game for me. If the story is very engaging I will try to play every update. If the game didn't really catch too much of my attention I will end up waiting for a couple of updates or an update that is said to be a BIG update. I'm talking 1000+ renders, new characters, if it's an rpg type game then new features. Also, the 1000+ renders would need to be proper renders, not just 1 render to the next is something as basic as a wink (can kind of get a feel for what the developper considers a render by looking at older versions or older games of theirs).

Not any more after so many great games/VN's got abandoned back when patreon cracked down of kinks/tags.

Now I wait for about 3-5 updated then play and if I like it I keep watch until it is finished then try again.
If I still like it then I will give some money to the dev.

Yes if the update takes a long time and no if they are small and regular

I wait until there is a great amount of content or the game is finished.
