Voice acting is great most of the time. AI voices and TTS not so much, but eventually they might be good too.

Depends on the voice actor and their engagement... It's not worth the effort unless it is good. I can always tell when the dev just outsources the lines.

Never. I don't avoid games with voice acting, because you can mute it. I read faster than the voice and also have my own voice acting in my head. Voice acting breaks my immersion

If the story is good, then there is no need for VO work.

I find VO is more likely in these circles (or even in AAA games) to detract from the experience than it is to enhance it.

I think that the cost of actually "Good VO" is just too high.

If they have voice actors, yes. If it's AI, no. I prefer to play with just moans being voiced though

depends heavily on the quality - ive found a lot of the ones that do have it are quite poor/amateur overall. iirc the only one that i think really elevated the game was snow daze, most others have been pretty poor overall - i do think AI voice bots will help here over time, they're rapidly getting better with their inflection and pitch control given the datasets being fed to them, and if that can be leveraged then i think we'll start to see it a lot more - and when its good it really, really elevates the game to be sure

I always play on mute so I wish the devs would save the time and disk space and cut out the voice and music.

Male voice acting sucks, female voice acting is a bit on the fence; it can be good or it can be incredibly cringe. Case by case.

In the most of times, voiced games is good. It were only 2 times when game with voicing was "not fitting"

Yeah, but not if they use those generic moaning sounds that almost every game has.
